Just got rid of some Dark Angels stuff...went for far lower than I expected. :-?

All pretty nicely painted by myself, all pretty much went for far below new cost.
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/j.wood24/DApics.htm

Tactical squad: Cost new £15.00, went for £6.25
Landspeeder: Cost new £15.00, went for £16.00
Bike squad: Cost new £28.00, went for £18.25
Chaplain on bike: Cost new £10.00, went for £7.00.

So not only have I dropped the cash difference, dropped a lot of painting time too. Since when did well painted stuff go for under new cost? Guess the market ain't there right now, weakness of the dollar must have put off US buyers.

Ah well, some people sure got some bargains, good luck to them. Lesson learned, set reserves in future. :-?

Ouch. Reserves are the way to go.

Bad shit dude... :o

did you include the term "pro-painted" in the description??

The chaplain on a bike is really very nice... should have fetched minimum of 20 quid if you ask me.... :-?

actually despite my low output i dont buy painted figures ever :( If i win stuff on ebay painted it gets stripped within a day or so.

Sad to say most time and effort is not rewarded with selling on ebay. If you work it out probably get about 1quid an hour which is pretty rubish.
Undead team on at the moment which are *&*t hot. my last team took about 6hours each and if you cost that at 16 figures is 380! I would never pay that in a million years, but as a hobby its fine.

Just hit that link, thats some seriously well painted stuff.

I differ from the post above, I always buy painted coz I cant paint. (only play BB Woody so I wont be buying this Dark Angels stuff).

If I see a really good painted BB team on ebay, that I dont have, (ie Amazons) then I would be prepared to pay well for it. I guess the market dictates it, as commented above. I got a choas team some time a go and I was prepared to pay £60, so i put my bid on. For three days no else bid so I got them for about £16 I think.

I guess that may have happenned here...... :-? Hopefully you'll get better results next time.....

sadly the only thing keeping me away from overseas auctions is the post cost =\ alot of the time thats more than the actual item. I would suggest reserve for teh future though =\

Actually DW hit it on the nose with me. I get burned on how weak the Dollar is every time. I have had the high bid for days, and win only to find out that the dollar has dropped even more and the great deal I thought I was getting going for above the value of the item I bid on.

Try having to convert from Canadian Dollars! Don't buy anything on ebay anymore, got too expensive (even when it looked like a good deal).

I don't buy painted 40K on eBay because, well, it won't match my army. Yeah, having a nice centerpiece is nice...but...it's pretty obvious I didn't do it if it's REALLY well done and...well...what's the point, then, really? 8)

As for BB...I'd buy painted, if I got a FULL team...too many people sell half-a-team (AKA, what comes in a team box). :-? I don't want to have arse-quality (AKA, my) miniatures next to some beautifully-painted stuff I got...so unless it's a full team, I ain't paying for paint.
