BloodBowlGuy wrote:Good Luck getting around Vancouver this year. I cant remember that much snow in vancouver. I live in Calgary and we dont even have as much as you out there.
You also have snowplows that 1) operate regularly when it snows and 2) are driven by guys who know what they are doing.

If you are on or VERY near a major route here, it's ok, but God help you if you need to get into a residential area.

Actually, funny story in the news today: we have 47, it's just that they can only operate 10-15 at one time :o

Just to clear up any possible misunderstanding from virral's post, the file is with the printer now, per GJ's post. We are waiting on a proof sheet, which hopefully we will have Friday, and if so we will be ordering the run as of Monday. If past experience holds true in this case, we will be collating sets for mail less than 2 weeks after that. We could have them printed faster, but we are not offering to pay more to get priority. Lots of folks do that, so when they do our job gets set aside. Last time the cards sat printed for several days before they were cut.

Continuous updates will be forthcoming.

Also, it's raining like crazy now so much of the snow is going away.

Virral wrote:The only card changes in the experimental rules are to add "on your team" to a few descriptions to make it clear you can't apply the card to someone on the opposing team. They are all cards related to one of your players bringing an item of some sort onto the pitch that adds both positive and negative traits.

Obviously someone decided to play silly buggers and insist they could use the card on the opposing team, which would clearly go against the spirit if not the letter of the card.

The cards are:

Gitka's Strength of the Bear
Gloves of Holding
Kicking Boots
Chainsaw

There would be no reason not to just include the new wording on any LRB5 cards produced, so I assume that's what they've done.
Yeah as GJ said I did take care of these cards. I also added the "on your team" text to Fawndough's Headband, since the Description text for that card makes it clear the Headband is to be used by one of your players. I did away with the description text on all cards (in a couple of cases some description was worked into the wording of the Effect, for needed clarity). The description text had to go in exchange for pictures.

We did have a complication with the proof set that Arcprint made for us. As we are printing errata cards at the same time for the cards we have for our league at present, the new print cards need to be identical to ones we already have. They weren't. The card stock was different, the rounded corners were not the same, and so Mike (civilian_number_two) left his current set of cards with them as a further proof. We are waiting for this second proof for approval.

My apologies, but we want this right and perfect. More updates to come.

Just got an email from the printer. They believe that they have gotten to the bottom of the errors with the first proof. We will request a second proof and if all is well we will likely go to print in the middle of next week (conservative guess being Wednesday-Thursday). More updates as they come.

Second proof is on order. We should have a new test print tomorrow - Monday. I will continue to keep you all posted on the latest developments regarding the LRB 5.0 cards.

Again, thanks to all for your patience.

Big update here: our effort to provide errata for our previous printing run has so far been the greatest impediment to getting this done quickly. After several tests, we have concluded that those cards are not reproducible so as to be indistinguishable from the previous set, for several reason which I won't bore you with. The long and short of it is that instead of errata, we will now simply produce new full sets for those members who purchased them two years back, and offer them to them at a special club price.

The good news for the rest of you is that the testing process is therefore over and we will go to print on Monday. For reasons I couldn't begin to understand, this is a busy time for printing houses, so the print, laminate, and cutting of these cards may take several days. Add to that, the rounding of the corners is not done in-house, so we have to wait while the print house sends the cards off to a separate location to complete the job.

I will let you all know when the cards are ready for shipping. My guess is that it will be about a week from Tuesday.
