I know this is a long way off but i just wondered if its worth waithing or go for 2ed humans and use them as marauders.

Cheers Olli
My current plan for the Chaos Pact team is to do this (no single figures on this page ... it will be all be team packs):

12 player team: 9 Norse Linemen, Skaven Lineman, Goblin Lineman, Dark Elf Lineman: 23 GBP / 45 USD / 30 EUR

4 player Expansion Pack: 1 Norse Lineman, BB Troll, BB Mino, BB Ogre (price to be determined)

===

After I get everything else in stock ... I'll check into the possibility of stocking plastic Marauder sprues from WFB.

So that's done ... the only reason they are on hold at all is JJ wanted official minis for the team. But they were already voted on by the BBRC and made official.

Didn't know that, great news.

Galak,
I am in the market for some pro elves, but don't want to fund GW, how far off releasing them do you think you are?

Ordered them today.

So you are looking at around 4 weeks before they show up in the store.

Just thinking out loud. How is anyone gonna know that your store is there if they're not online? Is GW gonna tell them? Even if they're online how will they find you if they're looking for a team they know GW puts out? This sounds like a LOT of money and I know the initial run seems sweet but be careful that you don't build too much inventory based on the initial reaction. This isn't Warhammer. LOL

The same way that Impact! doubled our sales in 2007 over 2006 and have so far doubled our sales in 2008 vs 2007. Word of mouth by the players.

We are already seeing it (the word of mouth)

And I'm only purchasing the next wave of figures based on the sales of only GW figures. So our investment in the company is already finished. Now it runs itself or it fails bases on its own sales ... its a sealed project money-wise.

The initial seed money by Impact! to get it started was $5000. If it all fails ... that's not much seed money at risk in terms of a business venture.
Even if they're online how will they find you if they're looking for a team they know GW puts out?
Simple answer to this one ... Advertising. BBFigs.com have already placed an ad the largest online search engine to help. Finally ... I post on all the largest BB forums when a new wave or team has come into the store ... and that is also an ad as well when it comes down to it.

Apparently this community is large enough to support you then but I'm thinking of all the people that surprise you when they've never heard of the NAF, TBB or whatever. There are 1000s of players out there that think GW is the only place for figures. I was thinking of them. I guess it'd be nice but you don't need them.

Oh I need them Steve for sure.

That's what the internet search engine ads I pay for are for.

If you get into BB and realize that you really need to get a couple extra figures to complete your team ... odds are one of your mates will go to the internet to see if anyone sells them. Our search engine ad specifically says we sell individual BB figures.

If I get just one person to see that add in each gaming group .... word of mouth will send it to the rest of them. I don't just rely on the big BB forums to draw attention.

Thanks for doing this. I ordered a full Chaos Dwarf side just last week!

As an aside, I think it's funny that GW US has a policy "protecting" brick and mortar stores. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and as far as I can tell, there is a total of ONE Blood Bowl Box set in the region for sale, and maybe a total of 3 teams.

The Games Workshop near us won't even order the minis, but the brick and mortar stores will sometimes allow it.

In other words, it's not competing with anything here... there simply isn't anything available! (All this despite having at least 4 active Blood Bowl leagues within 30 miles of my house.)

Galak - I'm in Japan for the next couple of years, but from the UK (I'll be returning when my work finishes up).

I'm looking at getting a wood elf team and eventually the halfling team from BBfigs.

Unsuprisingly you don't have yen down as a currency, but BBfigs asks me to select the currency closest to where I live - which is Aus$.

If I ignore this request and select GBP does it compleately mess up your system?

If you pick GBP instead of AUS and ask us to ship to Japan ... we might need to bill you for extra shipping unless you order enough to qualify for free shipping.

I'd don't think I'll be ordering enough for free shipping, but I don't mind paying a bit extra...

for a compay / service that gives me what I want...

in other words, keep up the good work, I'll be ordering all my stuff through you...

but its a shame that GW are that greedy / daft you have to do this in the first place!
