I wouldn't worry about any of it. I get annoyed with all the auctions that user posts but it's within their right. I used to sell all my stuff the same way and I'm going to again. Right now it's a bunch of Epic Ork stuff. Next???
What would be really funny is margretthorn sees your auction going for a low price, he's won't be able to stop himself from snapping it up.

I bought a few bits and pieces from him...seemed OK to me. Then again, I'm not a regular ebay buyer...just if I need some stuff (like the third Dwarf team I'm planning...I want to do the Dwarf Giants.)
The single mini auctions allowed me to get only what I was after (a dark elf and a Goblin for my Chaos All-Star team)....but damn its annoying that I can't put in a bulk bid for all those second ed dwarfs he has up atm...

Well personally i refuse to buy from m-thorn. the auctions are way too expensive, and he has sniped me on far to may auctions, just to break them up and resell them. Point in fact, an auction of about 15 snots, he won for about £45, then auctioned them all of singly starting at £4 each. The man !censored! me off!!!!!!

The real term is called huffing. "Rare", "mint", "pro-painted", "cool"... are all terms that are subjective and mean something different to everyone. It's leagal (I'm not sure that's the word I want here) to use these terms practically any way you want because it's assumed that the buyer knows that the seller is just pumping up his item.Indigo wrote:Does anyone think it would be petty and spiteful if I reported every single one of her auctions that advertises a 2nd ed "star player" as rare? After all, you can still get all the 2nd ed stars from Games Workshop, which hardly makes them rare. False advertising I call it...
Now what I find ironic is that this seller gluts the market with so many rarities that he can hardly prove that any of them are actually rare.

m-thorn, "Hey, buy this, it's super-rare"
informed buyer, "I've seen you sell 5 of these in the past week. You've posted so many of them that this one didn't sell."
m-thorn, "Umm, but it RARE!"
I agree that his sniping of a lot and piecing it out as soon as he gets it is rude and a slap in the face to anyone he outbids. When I was doing that regularly I'd at least wait 4 or 5 months between buying the items and posting them so I could at least claim that I had the intention of using them.

Unless it's something I can't find somewhere else (and I cant see that happening) I wont buy from that seller. I don;t need to buy things that get marked up an extra time.
Don't sink to his level Indigo, just don't buy from him/her.

use www.auctionsniper.com it'll snipe his ass right back and you still only enter your bid in once. if it goes over your bid it just doesn't submit it.Evil Git wrote:aaahhh

Remember the big thing about snipe bidding is that you'll only pay $1 more than what anybody else would.

Ha! And I used to think I was the only one annoyed by the e-bay seller who puts up pages upon pages of single minis for outrageous prices. I was wondering if he was worth a post; turns out, he's on the "No"-list of many others...
edit: Oh wait, he's at it again. Three+ pages of single minis auctions with pictures. Even though the demanded starting bids are outrageous, about 25% of them have bids on them. As for the rest... ah well, I'm looking forward to seeing them again next week, and the week after that and after that. Man, this guy is just annoying.

It's funny but I was interested in how this auction ended and saw that as well.
He paid 2+ GBP for each and he's going to pay shipping. If he posts them singularly they'll be 15p each for the posting and, if they sell at the price he's going to have to ask, the final value fee will make any profit, minimal if at all.
He's getting ridiculous and if he keeps it up like this, he won't be in business very long.

I bought a bunch of stuff I needed from his huge list of figs. 3 quid each...could be worse TBH seeing as they're out of print (and that's not far short of what GW charge for most stuff these days).
I put in base bids and got everything I wanted apart from one Kicker.
Noticed that all the stuff he DIDN'T sell popped right back up. Eventually he'll end up with loads of stuff noone wants...and looking at that other auction he can't be making much. I wouldn't pay that much for that lot of gobs and snots.
