Well ... a thread that only has the guy selling the stuff passing info by PM only ... nahh ... no thanks. Mysterious suggestions of different art but no images of them on the thread.

I'm out.

i am CONDITIONALLY interested, but only if:

1: the price is reasonable

AND

2: the imagery is IDENTICAL to the official bb block dice

AND

3: i can pay by paypal and get confirmation from the seller, that way in case we get screwed i have an avenue of recompense.

PayPal only give you the impression you have an avenue for recompense. They never return any money.

i'm pretty sure that if the seller is "confirmed' or whatever the term is, and you put money into their account, and something goes wrong, they can just take it back out of their account. i think that's the whole point of having the "confirmed" sellers.

could be wrong, though, thankfully i've never had to go down that road so far with a seller.

You'd think so. I know I did. I've been there and they don't do anything. They always claimed that there was no money in the seller's account. I think they're lying but I can't prove it and they know that. Meanwhile I watch the seller continue to post and close auctions all the while offering PayPal as a means of payment. It sucks.

I use paypal a lot, and I'll confirm they are crap at getting your money back.

It's best if you just think of it as a way of transferring money, and not as any kind of security backup. It's safer than sending cash in the mail, but only because the mail might get lost :-?

It's useful for international transfers and fast online transactions. I'd likely never use if for anything really expensive unless I actually knew the other person/company.

I took a set in to see how much they would cost to be cast in sterling silver and was quoted £200 and even em4 who make speciality dice cant do a silvered set for a resonable price

Doesn't 'silver' refer to the colour, not the metal?

I know you can get get 'silver' dice for about a fiver/tenner/something-that-folds or so per set, so it can be done in that colour, just not using sterling silver.

But I do agree that this thing is starting to look a little suspicious.
