Damn that dollar rate!

Post by Zombie »

The canadian dollar has been picking up 1.5 US cents every month for the last 5 months. I didn't know about that, and just found out now. I was expecting the canadian dollar to be worth about 60 cents US, but it's worth over 72 cents now and still going up.

I guess this is a bad time to be selling my CAN $2000 worth of extra figs on eBay. I'd be losing over $200 compared to what i would have gotten only 6 months ago (even assuming same eBay prices). Damn that recently great canadian economy and recently failing american economy!

I guess i'll follow someone else's advice here (who said that prices are usually higher from October to December and very low in the summer) and hope that our dollar can go back down before this fall. But i'm not too optimistic.

What kind of figs? :P Maybe you can get straight Canadian dollars on them, from me. ;D

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

I've got every official team except for norse (and i already arranged a deal to get them in about a month or so), plus 3 unofficial ones (vampires, minotaurs, snotlings). Most teams (i.e. al but lizardmen i believe), i have at least in two copies. Some, i have in up to 5 copies or even more! I've got all the 3rd ed star players in multiple copies as well (maybe with the exception of the deathroller (not sure) and treeman). And i have too many copies of some 3rd ed cheerleaders and coaching staff. And last but not least, i've got 5 copies of the box game.

I want to sell every double i have, and keep only one full team of every race, and one copy of every star player.

I'll be making a full list off everything i have next weekend.

Quite a collection you got there if you don't even remember how many of each you have... Have you bought all of them as new or gotten them cheap from friends who've quit playing or something?

If you are willing to stay below GW prices, i'd be interested in Halflings, Amazons and all 3rd ed cheerleaders.

The CAN$ should not be so strong compared to the EUR, as the EUR also picked up alot on the US$ :-?

Please feel free to drop me an offer (e-mail prefered).

(I'll be off my computer until Friday, however)

I just want to sell them at whatever price i could realistically expect on eBay (if the dollar was still where it was when i bought them). No more, no less. That's below GW prices, except for the painted ones.

I forgot to mention, my two amazon teams are the only ones that aren't GW figs (those are ugly). I bought Shadowforge's minis instead.

Don't expect any news until next Sunday at the earliest. It should take me all of Sunday just to make a complete list of everything i have.

For those who posted in this thread or sent me a PM saying they were interested, i'm sorry to inform you that i spent all weekend downtown playing Blood Bowl or rollerblading, and had no time to make an inventory of my Blood Bowl stuff. So don't expect any news before next Saturday, at the earliest.

to get back, I like it this way. I still think $=Euro. My Ccard bill looks little better with the current value of both coins.
