I'm not much of a painter. I don't have the patience and I lack artistic ability. Some people, it seems can look at a mini and see what it's going to look like when it's done. They visualize the colors and what's going to go where. I have to put brush to mini, realize that's a patch of skin and not the shirt, then paint over the color I just laid down which causes it not to match the rest of the skin. Bah! It drives me nuts since there are few pleasures finer than holding a nicely painted mini.

Economics isn't just how much you pay you also have to look at time and convience. I think this is a good deal if you don't mind getting a team prepainted. If you look at the cost of what it costs to get all 16 players then for a small amount of money more you have them all fully painted. If your like me it can take up to six weeks to paint a team so getting one for this amount already painted is a good deal IMO.

There's a company that will paint your minis for you, just send the minis and the desired colour scheme. They have 3 different painting qualities (from good, to very good, to awesome) and all their painters are pros. But of course, in typical me fashion, I forgot the name of the company, anyone know what I'm talking about?

There are actually 100s of them. Go to Bartertown.org and click the painters link for several of them. Check out their prices and you'll see how good of a deal a nice, clean, pre-painted team on eBay really is. It can easily cost $100 for a plain job and up to $400 for the top of the line jobs.

If you guys wanna see something REALLY scary, go to coolminiornot.com and browse for "Typhus". There's an unpainted conversion of Lord Typhus that was sold for $500 (!!!!!) on Ebay. Not bad for a few rainy evenings work and a $17,50 Obliterator...
