WTB: Human Team - No longer looking

Post by chigger254 »

I'm looking to buy a 5th edition GW Human team.

I'm kinda hoping for a 2 Thrower, 4 Catcher, 4 Blitzer, 6 Lineman team with no duplicate players. (look at me being all picky and stuff :p)

I prefer unpainted because I'd probably strip them down and paint them myself anyway, unless the paint job is really awesome.

I believe Granny still sells this.

Or are you looking to not give her any of your money.

Right now I'd rather give money to another Blood Bowl player than GW, but I'll buy it from them if I have to.

A downside to getting from GW is also that I have no way of being sure I won't get duplicate figures, so I'd rather get it from someone who definitely has no duplicates.

There are no duplicates in the Granny 16-man human team. You get 4 blitzer, 2 thrower, 4 catcher and 6 lineman, all unique.

Ditto. I have this team and they're all different. And in my personal opinion it's one of the very few teams left that Granny sells that I would consider to be "the best" for that race.

Huh... I was going off of what they had listed there in the description:

This set 16 players: 2 Blitzers, 2 Throwers, 4 Catchers and 8 Linemen plus 2 balls. A variety of designs are available and are supplied at random.

But if it is what you guys say then yeah, that is a good deal...

And I also agree, it's my favorite Human team out of any of them available, which is strange considering how much better most of the other companies other teams are over GW's.

I went digging through my old e-mails from a few years ago, as I actually bought this team once before, never painted it and sold it again for some reason.

Looks like in an old e-mail I had discovered that it's just like you guys say, so thanks for pushing back in the right direction. I don't normally care to buy things from GW, but the Human team seems to be one of the few really good deals they offer (16 players, all the positions filled, cool looking sculpts, not overpriced comparatively), and I still don't understand why...

I really like the 5th edition humans but I held off buying them because I couldn't tell the difference between the blitzers and lineman.

Yeah, I converted mine to Chaos Pact, so I don't have that issue, but I think the easiest way is to look at the chest plates.

They still have a couple teams that I don't think can be compared to yet. Humans and Dwarf are the two that spring to mind. The only problem with the Dwarf team is that they don't have unique sculpts for each mini, but other then that I personally think they're still the best sculpts for basic dwarfs. There are some other nice dwarf teams out there but they're themed.....so :-?

Arguments could also be made for the GW Skaven and Norse teams I think, but I would say that even though there's nothing really wrong with either of them there are also alternatives that are equal if not better. Personal preference really.

The blitzers all have more armor and a face mask. You can tell the difference when you hold them in your hand.

Yeah, I like the GW Dwarf and Norse teams more than anything other companies have, but with the Norse it's really close compared to some of the other stuff out there... The thing that got me to get the GW Norse over the other options was that it's a lot easier to lay down the players than a lot of the other models that have dynamic poses.
