Surf Bowl is a one day, three match resurrection style tournament. This means all players return to their starting status after each game regardless of any events which may have occurred in a preceding match.
The first matchups between coaches will be drawn randomly with the remainder based on the Swiss tournament format. Final standings will be ranked using a system of tiebreakers in the following order:
• Total Points
• Strength of Schedule
• Net TD’s & CAS (Only SPP generating Cas count)
Points:
• 30 per win
• 10 per draw
• 0 per loss
• -50 points per concede
Bonus points:
• 1pt – Surfed 1-2 players.
• 2pts – Surfed 3+
TEAM BUILDING
Each team will have 1,150 gold to build your team as per the rules from the Blood Bowl rule book, spike magazines, Teams of Legend document and NAF documents.
A team must have a minimum of 11 rostered players (before counting stars)
INDUCEMENTS
The following Inducements may be purchased using the 1,150 gold available for team building:
• Bribes (max 3)
• Star Players (max 2 dependent on cost, please see below for additional rules)
• Mortuary Assistant (max 1)
• Plague Doctor (max 1)
• Wandering Apo (max 2)
• Halfling Master Chef (max 1)
• Bloodweiser kegs (max 2)
• Riotous Rookies (max 1)
• Biased Referee (max 1)
• Mascot (max 1)
SKILLS
There are 6 Tiers, which will determine the available Points to purchase skills.

Random skills are not allowed. Stacking is only allowed on a maximum of one player and they can only have a maximum of two additional skills. There is an extra cost of 2spp for a stacked skill.
“For example, Matt takes a Chaos Renegade team and decides to puts Block on his Dark Elf, but he wants to make it a dirty horrible Dark Elf, so he also gives it two heads. Both skills are primary Skills so cost 6spp each. But as he’s stacking it costs an additional 2spp. Making the total cost 14spp. Matt would like to make the Dark Elf even dirtier but alas, he can only have a maximum of two additional skills.”
Up to 2 Star Players may be purchased at their normal TV, but they also require a payment of 25spp each, The following star players are banned from Surf Bowl:

Future releases:
Please note that if any Games Workshop releases happen before the event in July 2024, the TO will review the release before it is included in the event. However, you can assume that unless otherwise stated they will be included as long as they conform with the NAF tournament guidelines and the full release is over two weeks before the date of the event. If it is within two weeks they will not be allowed.

Your Roster will need to be provided to bloodbowlne1@yahoo.com in a recognised PDF format by Friday 18th July 2025, a printed version will be provided to you at registration.

STUNTY CUP:- is open to: Goblins, Halflings, Ogres, Snotlings, as well as Black Orcs (No Black Orcs), Lizards (no Saurus), Underworld (No Skaven),
BEST HAWAIIAN SHIRT COMP – Voted for by the venue operator, the best Hawaiian shirt will receive a prize.
CHESS CLOCK – If your opponent wishes to use a chess clock then you must adhere to the following rules:
1. The remaining time of the current round is divided between both coaches and is allotted equally.
2. Time/turn will be passed to you whenever it is your turn to do something. This includes kick off and setting up. This also includes moving a piece for sidestep and choosing to use an apo for example. As a rule of thumb if you are making a decision or moving a piece your time should be running.
3. Any breaks you take come out of your time. Such as toilet or refreshment breaks. The clock is not paused.
4. If your time runs out then the only actions you are allowed to complete on your turn, are to stand your players up. That is all. Anything else is not allowed.
LATE ARRIVALS:- Should you arrive for your match later than 10 minutes, a chess clock will be provided and your time will be running. This is so your opponent is not penalised due to your lateness.
