Should we stick with the current deadline or allow latecomers to contribute until we have a full team's worth of Gobbos?

Holiday??? I WISH! Work is the truth.

I'm sitting in a supermarket in Rheinberg, Germany installing several technical gadgets together with 50+ people from other technology companies to make it the "Future Store". I have to battle past those people to get the only one phone line to get access to the outside world ... not the right mood for TBB discussions. :(

On Monday evening, everything will be over, then i'll be back ... 8)

Ah, and yes, i painted the pogo stick gobbo. :smoking: Great picture, Milo!

Ah, and i voted for Nr. 2 (May 1st soft deadline) ... 11 would be a minimum to make it a team, i guess. However, i think this should come to an end soon.

Okay, today's the deadline, so minis have to be postmarked by today in order to be eligible for the drawing. Here's what we've got so far:

Code: Select all

Qty. # Description Painter
----- -- ------------------------------------ ---------
1 01 Troll (2nd Ed.) Stingger
1 02 Troll (3rd Ed.) Trambi
1 04 Goblin (2nd Ed.) Milo
1 07 Goblin TJ Wesley
1 08 Goblin Grumbledook
1 09 Goblin traveller
1 11 Goblin horekim
1 12 Goblin (2nd Ed.) Deathwing
1 13 Goblin w/Chainsaw Thadrin
1 14 Goblin w/Pogo (Scrappa) Tim
1 -- Goblin Cheerleader Milo

11 Total Minis
That's what I actually have in my possession right now.

I know that these are on the way:

Code: Select all

Qty. # Description Painter
----- -- ------------------------------------ ---------
1 05 Goblin McDeth
1 -- Goblin Cheerleader Milo

2 Total Minis
Are there any that I've missed? Anything on the way that I need to wait for? Anthony -- is that Thrown Goblin ready yet?

Also, I'm thinking we should offer an extra entry in the raffle for people who sent in Big Guys or small guys before the initial deadline? What do you guys think about that?

Stupid question, but if I get my skates on, can I get in for it?

I can have one done and posted this weekend if needed :)

Moosifer -- the group voted and decided that May 1st had to be a hard deadline, so I think I have to say no. There's been enough interest, though, that we'll likely start brainstorming on another team RSN.

Personally, I'd be happy to offer an entry per mini or two per Big Guy.
But I'm not concerned about deadlines, some people have obviously spent more time painting than others, real life has a habit of interfering etc, some have had tourney teams to get done within the time frame whereas others haven't, and a myriad of other possibilities that could cause delay.
So I'd like to see entries allocated based on what people have contributed rather than when they contributed. There's just too many variables that you can't legislate for in the latter. If we do want to go that route next time out, it needs to made be crystal clear when the date is decided.

I agree with Deathwing. If another event like this one follows, there should be exact "rules" (normal i dont like this word  ), what has to be where in what timelimit. If not, this very interesting international event just become one of those "small" paint contests you see a some game shops.
Maybe i´m arogant (where did i heard this word before  ) ,but i´m not giving painted minis easy away. Thats the reason i estimate the gift of Dave, given to me, very high!

I agree with both of you. This first legacy team has introduced the concept and attracted a lot of attention. With the next ones, we'll be more organized and have a better set of rules.

Speaking of, should we start planning a new team and color scheme now, or should we wait until this team is away?
