Sorry Pritch, seems I worded my post rather badly.
What I'm trying to say is that people who paint a mini entirely one colour then blob a bit of different colour on the skin and a bit of different colour on the hair then leave all the finer details untouched, should not be allowed. I see this mostly in people who play GW games for the gaming rather than the painting. They cover the basic three colour spread and no more. What I meant was much like Milo said. I think all painters should attempt to paint every bit of detail on a mini and not just opt out with the spray bomb then quick splash of paint.
2 Teams sounds like a good idea too DFC but judging by the poll so far we could only manage one.

I like DFCs suggestion, but first I guess we would have to find out how many people plan to contribute. A good and evil team option would work (realistically only need 32 different people to participate, OK so maybe it's not all that realistic), you could pick which team you wanted to do a mini for or even do one for each if you wished. I say pick ones that haven't been done and that provide some cool conversion possiblities (or at least the ablility to use 2ed minis as well - such as with the new elves).

i agree with everything except i want people who can hardly manage to churn out what we would call a slopy paint job to have the oppertunity to contribute. worst case scenario, we give hte kids some pointers and learn them to make quality minis. all for the 2 team thing, but i think it should be like an arch-rival type thing. example: lizardmen hate amazon and so on

Hum... Torg ... Why not putting a time limit for it?
Maybe you're right... It seems to me that a lot of people should be interested in. Even if you don't win the lot, you participated to a nice project, and imho, make a player (a tbber!) happy. Just enough for me to spend some hours on painting something (I'm an avrage painter, but I need really a lot of time for it).
My podium:
1. Elves (whatever they are ... High elves could produce really nice conversions)
2. Lizardmen (the same here... But as for goblins, the team is a little bit boring in theory: saurus, and skinks... and kroxigor...)
3. Skavens (should be great here, due to the fact they are a lot of possibilities with mutations...)
4. New team (why not bretonnians?)
Argh, there are 4, and not 3, choices... Arf.
Another idea: I remember I saw (nad played against... and been defeated...) during the blood bowl tournament a human team which was really nice, due to the fact the guy tried to put an american football style, very realistic.
Why not trying to do something similar (only conversions)? just my 0.02 cents...

I actually dont think it will be a prob with low painting quality. Does anyone know a regular visitor of this board that does not at least "try" to produce well painted minis?
When contributing to an event like this, one wants to show the best one can do by spending at least a couple of hrs on the mini. What i mean is:
speed painting minis for a wh40k or whfb army is one thing, but painting one single mini for a competition or participation of a legacy team is a different matter.
I agree with the poster that said that the color scheme should be the same (ie choice of colors), but the areas that are painted what color, should be left to the creation and inspiration of the painter (checkered, stripes etc).
I think tzeench sounds like a good idea, but im open for any suggestion.

i gotta be honest, i'm a good enough, i'd even go as far as to say a contender when it comes to painting, but it's never taken me more than an hour to do a mini, even big guys. i dunno, that's just a side not i wanted to add sayign that time does not always equal quality. anyways, i really like the idea of creating a converted team. what is it, www.midgardbb.com that has the full list of official/unofficial and prohibited teams? what if we were to creat one of these, or two as has been mentioned, to put a physical team to the name. it would also greatly expand our limits of teams to the realitively small number of official minis GW releases for BB, not to mention how stores in the states seem to severly lack when it comes to stocking anything outside of WHFB and WH40K.

Well, not 100% true. I "try" to produce well painted mini's, and then get totally p*ssed off when they look like crap. I think I set my sights to high to start with.
I vote for Norse and Lizzies, as both teams cn be converted from the new WFB plastics.

Classical Choice : Tzeench Chaos team
Original choice : Bretonnian team (with the same roster as humain team)
DFC
I don't think it a good thing to oblige people to use some minis (like new plastic warhammer minis) with perhaps a exception to say that the minis must be GW (and I'm not sure of that).

Brettonians sounds cool too, but if we are doing humans then my vote goes for Marienburgers.

Of course i didnt mean the actual time, more that each participant tries to do that "little extra". By the way, im just curious, how does one manage to paint a whole mini in an hour? or is it just me that is slow?time does not always equal quality.

I would love to see a bretonnian Team ... as long as they look like Bloodbowlplayer and not like Fantasy squires and knights. (I hope Dain is not reading thisTrambi wrote:Classical Choice : Tzeench Chaos team

Bretonnian team :
The helmet could look like knight helmets.
So for example, human plastic BB minis with knight helmet for the blitzers.
Tzeench chaos team :
I prefer, blue and gold colors but a lot other colors that is chaos after all !
