If you think it's a bit over the top to get these inducements and the 200k, can I then assume that under current rules you guys would be bringing ogres, halflings or goblins? Because if not... well... then it can't be that competitive right?
Almost certainly at least one of them....Yes!! More of a problem is that they have had nearly a year, and now we are 11 weeks away and (I think) they're still creating or changing rules.....
Agree on the problem of changing rules at such a late time, but hey, they're French!

Funny thing with these stunty upgrades is that it also makes dwarves and amazons better, and chaos and vampires worse (although they didn't need to get worse... )

I see your point on dwarves, chaos and vampires, but i can't see on amazons, could you explain me?

I booked my place for euro open bowl with halflings ages ago before I knew this rule, but I'm happy with it!

More stunty teams = less general skills = less block&tackle

Personly I think this stunty buff smells a bit of someone getting a bright idea and just implementing it without any tests :)

I am not saying omg stunty will now be overpowered, altough the Ogre team sure seems interestring now, but they again its still just stunty teams, and I highly doubt the winner of Eurobowl will be someone playing stunty.

That being said..... it sure is a huge boost, I just hope this one dosnt blow up in your faces ;)

My personal feeling on this:

It's not good to make such a huge change just a few weeks before, especially when a set of 'proposed rules' were made available for consideration some months ago, where there was no talk of anything like this. It's completely 'out of the blue'.

So rather than there having been a broad debate about this, the rule is being tabled without any discussion.

In previous discussions I felt there was some general agreement that the EB rules should not be tinkered with lightly. That if significant changes were made it should be done by consensus.

It may well have been tested and, like Geggster, I defer to those who have tested it. However it does appear very heavy handed.

I think the basic idea of helping the weaker teams is laudable. But I'm not sure it has been done the right way.

as ever it's funny that player think it's dangerous to help the worst team

Maybe you will be defeated by halfling with a 4/0 with you lizard but think a little.
did you always want to face the same tournament team for ever
for the Bowl des neiges we take this change for having more roster biodiversity and it was a full success and a full pleasure for most of the player

so forget your boring game with always the same appariment and welcome to a new world where gamer can face defeat against the worst blood bowl player ever with lots of luck and hazard.

At the end Halfing and ogre will still be loosing roster which are played for fun
And if it is too much upgrade for them just played with them the full tornament

It is with a great regret that I have to confirm the withdrawel of Team Scotland from this years Eurobowl.

Due to a mixture of personnal reasons and location/price of the event we have had almost a team and a half drop out this year, which leaves us with only 4 scots on the team. I know the rules have changed this year to allow teams to enter with only the captain as a national but we feel tht rule is not right and we wouldnt feel right representing our nation in such a way.

We are now looking forward to next years World Cup and then the 2012 EB in Denmark/Belgium/Holland/Switzerland
