Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

Vampire "Bloodlust" Physical Ability

Post by Indigo »

How about this version of the Bloodlust idea offered in BB mag #10.

A Vampire with this physical ability must roll a d6 at the start of any action. On a 2-6 the Vampire can be used normally, but on a 1 the red thirst takes over. The Vampire must immediately make a free "extra" blitz action against the nearest opposing player (randomise any ties). This blitz is in addition to the normal 1 blitz per turn. If the vampire cannot reach an opposing player (including any Go For It rolls) then the Vampire goes into shock and collapses. Make an immediate CASUALTY roll for them. Note that the Vampire's regeneration skill cannot be used to counter the effects of this injury as the player's system is in a severely weakened state.

This would be a physical ability. Although I only planned for Vamps to have it, might it be suitable for non-Vampires?

It combines the huge bonus effect of an extra blitz with the potentially crippling CAS roll. It is not connected to OFAB in any way at all....

I like where you are going, but still not buying it. I think this would take about 2 games to learn how to deal with it max, and after that have a very rare ballcarrier or chaser who fails.

I know if any opf my Undead players are farther then there full movement from an opponent there are probably almost none standing on the field and one in position to score.

By the way, I am assuming this only goes for Standing opponents (Blitz or Block) and not fouls.

I'm sorry but any negatrait that people want to use on every occasion except when standing in scoring distance to the opposing endzone is not a serious penalty for a ST4 AG4 guy IMHO.

It's like giving Ogres a free pile-on action after failing bonehead and saying "hey, but he's prone afterwards".

Thery should stick to COFAB.

This isn't supposed to be related at all to OFAB, it's supposed to be a physical ability that only vamps can take, and then only on a double. Not a negatrait.

It is fairly powerful, but it's also fairly dangerous when it happens at the wrong time...
