Troll Vomit attack?

Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

Troll Vomit attack?

Some people say if the troll was slightly better, then more people would take them over ogres.

So would giving them a vomit attack (action)?

Something like:

xTx
123

or
xT1
x32

Roll a D3 to see which square is effected.

If there is a player in that square then they take the effect as if they'd been hit by a ST4 MB block (no assists on either side, even for guard). If a skull is rolled, then the troll just belches loudly, but no TO is suffered.

Crap implemetation (it's all off the top of my head),but is there any merit in the idea?

The easiest solution would be to give Trolls STR6 IMHO

Different and fun, yes, but wasn't that just once per "whatever" time in WFB?
(I'm just not a friend of too many special extra rules/extra dice rolls, I'm happy that LRB is a streamlined ruleset compared to its predecessors. 8) )

Still, I'm on your side to make Trolls a little better :wink:

I just can't see why you'd use the Vomit Attack over just hitting someone with the ST5. Does it ignore assists? If so, maybe.

How about taking that belch a step further instead and giving it the effects of Hypnotic Gaze, effectively stunning the player effected.

I just can't see why you'd use the Vomit Attack over just hitting someone with the ST5.
If it was made with the wfb idea, it would be an auto injury roll, no armor.

OK, so maybe something like this would be interesting, at least as a house rule?

Vomit (Racial characteristic)
The player can take a special Vomit action. An opponent in the players tackle zone will automatically be knocked prone, and must make an armour roll as usual. However, the vomiting player counts as having failed a Really Stupid roll.

This way there's no need of keeping track of a "only once per game" rule or such. It could be made Physical instead, but maybe that could be used in some beardy fashion, I don't know.

Of course there are no SPP:s to be gained from vomiting, neither is MB used on the roll.

I think a vomit attack would, fluff wise, make sense only for Nurgle Rottters players (kinda reminds me of Nurgle's stream of corruption from Compendium 1).

What about:
Vomit attack
The player (Troll) can take a special Vomit action. Target an opponent in the players tackle zone and roll 1D6. If you beat opponent's AG, he will automatically be knocked prone, and must make an armour roll as usual. If the roll is equal or less the opponent's AG nothing happens. On a roll of 1 the player (Troll) exhaused himself badly. Place him in the reserve dug out, he will miss the rest of the drive. Vomiting counts as an action.

INstead of placing him in the dug out I'd say just make the exhaustion the same as failing Really Stupid. Or place him prone.

That'd just be another block option, worse than a 2D block for AG3. If he goes to the dugout on a 1, it'll hardle ever be used, and even if he just goes prone it'll just be a slightltly different alternative to a 1D block.

The point in making it automatic is to give the troll better possibilities to get those AG4 Blodge types down. It's won't be very efficient, since there's no "blitz" variant, but it'll make those ballhandlers stay away from troll TZ:s.

At the same time, it'll give them an edge on the LOS. Some times there's a guard player or a Big Guy that just has to be neutralized, even at the cost of giving up the troll TZ:s.

I wouldn't want the skill to be used more than maybe a few times per match. One problem with my suggestion might be that the troll could vomit every turn at the same player, to automatically neutralize him. Maybe there should be a sentence limiting vomits from being repeated two turns in a row, or even only once per game. (Once per drive or halftime would probably be a bit hard to keep track on.)

YOu could say that the attack makes him really stupid no matter what and if he rolls a 1 on the attack he has hit himself with the vomit and suffers an armor roll as well.
