Hobgoblin Stupidity
I was thinking about an alternate rule to represent the pure stupidity of the hobgoblins who play Blood Bowl. On suggestion was to treat them as bone heads, but this seems too stupid. I was thinking maybe that for each hobo on the field for the first drive roll a d6. On a 1 or 2 the player is unable to tie his shoe laces and keeps tripping over every time he tries to do anything. Treat him as AG1 for the first drive. After the drive he and his teammates find the combined intelligence to tie his bootlaces for him. This roll could be modified by +1 if you had assistant coaches to help tie the laces for the players. I wasn't sure how many assistant coaches was fair. So what do you think?

I like the idea of every match starting with tying the shoelaces for those Hobgoblins... How about this:
- - - - - -
Hobgoblins have the racial charasteristic "Too Stupid For These Boots". Before the first drive you roll for each Hobgoblin trying to tie his shoelaces. They need to roll 3+ to succeed.
A hobgoblin may be fielded with his shoelaces untied, but will then be AG 1 and needs 4+ when Going for it.
Before every drive, the hobgoblins may try to tie their shoelaces again.
Each assistant coach may be used to skip the roll for one hobgoblin before each drive.

This would make Chaos Dwarfs slightly less powerful, but you'd really solve most problems by buying a couple of assistant coaches for those Hobgoblins that have some SPP:s.
If you prefer making them a bit more powerful than today, you could price the Hobgoblins 30 000 gp. The extra 10 000 gp could be used to buy an assistant coach to negate "Too stupid...".

It wouldn't be that much - most of the times, just one or two on-pitch hobgoblins will have their shoes untied during the first drive, and probably none from the second drive. And it's no more difficult too keep track on than individual player skills and the like. (Remember, once they've tied their shoes the Chaos Dwarves sure won't let them untie them again until the match is over!
)
But sure, there is a bit of extra bookkeeping. I just don't like the OFAB-kind of rules.

I am sorry to disagree with you but having played choas dwarfs, there is no need to add this in at all, unless you add a similar thing to each race. Also by doing this your tacking away from the coaches skill, subjecting them even more to the will of the dice. All the main races are even as they are, there is certainly no need to tamper with them.
