Dwarf team I'd like to see tested

0-2 Runners 6/3/3/8 Sure Hands G/P (P is :puke: , but not as :puke: as a Dwarf with Ag)
0-4 Blitzers 5/3/3/9 Block GS
0-2 Troll Slayers 5/3/2/8 Block, Frenzy, Dauntless GS
0-4 Blockers 4/3/2/9 Block, Stand Firm GS
0-16 Linemen 4/3/2/9 Block, Sure Feet G
All have Thick Skull (players prices as acceptable)
Rerolls 50k

Bit more speed, bit more AG (so perhaps the runners will actually take the P skills), a Dwarf-like skill (Stand Firm), no tackle (never seen any justification for it), and less S access.

Now for the demolishing.

although (cause I am bored) I will say that for someone who is against BIG changes

Why not stop at the obvious winners
50k rerolls
0-4 blitzers

and see how that does for a bit If the team is still not worse than Goblins in LRB5 then why not go for the rest of the plan.

What's your justification for Sure Feet?

Especially as you hate the idea of Dwarf players getting Agility access. It seems strange to give the majority of the team an Agility Skill straight off the bat.

I think the roster would look better with just Block on the lineman and a reduction in cost.

to be honest, if you did that, A Dwarf Roster could easily max positionals have 3 rerolls and 12 men, however without Tackle you would have to increase their MA just to keep them at their current win ratio versus most teams.

Keeping Tackle gives them identity, if you want less players on the field increase the Blitzer allowance and reroll costs appropriately

I personally would only take 4 Blockers in a 12 man set-up, so 4 players with Tackle, I really cannot understand the problem.

just for interest sake
4 Blockers
4 Blitzers
2 Runners
2 Slayers
1 reroll
1 FF

I would play that team any day and the only players who might "gain" tackle would be the Slayers who I treat as threat hunters anyway.

Originally I was going to make the lino MA5, but I think that's a bit much for dwarfs.

I think the justification is that there's no prehensile beard skill ;)

50k rerolls
0-4 blitzers
This summer (2 seasons) the Dwarf teams in our league will be trying out 0-4 Blitzers and 50K rerolls. Should be interesting to see how they play.

I hate Dwarf teams with a passion, but I really like the Dwarf positionals. (So I guess I just hate Dwarf Blockers) This method seems to reduce the number of blockers on pitch, while also giving the Dwarf team the ability to play a faster paced game if they desire.

The optimist in me hopes that it'll open up the ability for Dwarf teams to play fast flowing blood bowl if they desire.
But the cynic just thinks that the Dwarfs will carry on grinding. Just with the ability to move faster when needed.

The idea for 0-4 Blitzers and 50k RR has grown on me but I fear it gives dwarfs more options without any real drawbacks.
Following is an idea for dwarf teams I posted in a different thread a while ago. Maybe there are some ideas that you like.

I am too one of those that think the dwarf team needs a change, not necessarily because it is to strong (vs some teams) but rather because you get a complete team with not much to add.
Even though the following team does not address the 'complete starting roster' problem, I think it may be a step in the right direction.

0-16 Dwarfs 4329 Tackle,Thick Skull 60k
0-2 Runner 6338 Sure Hands, Thick Skull 80k
0-2 Blitzer 5339 Block, Thick Skull 80k
0-2 Troll Slayer 5328 Block, Dauntless, Frenzy, Thick Skull 90k
0-2 Blocker/Guards 4329 Block, Guard, Thick Skull 90k
0-1 Deathroller
RR 50k

This roster limits either the number of block or tackle on a starting team and compensates for it a bit by adding 2 players with guard.

example team:
2 Blocker 180k
2 Slayer 180k
2 Blitzer 160k
2 Runner 160k
3 Dwarfs 180k
2 RR 100k
40k to spend
or 1 less positional player for another RR.

After forcibly removing the HOOK from my cheek, I will avoid this thread as it is obviously designed to bait people who like Dwarves

No, but the BG is designed to bait people that think dwarfs need a BG.

The Dwarfs already have a BG, it's called the Death Roller.
