SPP's for catches and kills

SPP's for catches and kills
I would just like some opinions on this topic. Should Spp's be given for good catches and kills. You get SPP's for passing and intercepting, I just think the guy at the other end of that pass deserves something as well. I'd say 1 SPP for a good catch. Then there is the exp for kills, I think a kill should be worth more than a broken leg or just badly hurt.

Most catches fall into two varieties.
1. Passes that go for a TD. (So the catcher gets 3 spp already.)
2. The cheap quick pass thrown off a kick off just to gain spp. (thus giing an spp to TWO players on one pass instead of 1.)
I think in both cases you are giving out too many spp on the play. Elves will eat you alive with this one. Two cheap spp for just 2 twos.
There would need to be a separate column for catches, on your team record sheet, but I assume you already thought of that (or would lump them with completions which I don't reccomend) and have no issue with doing that. I just thought I'd bring it up just in case.

Kills are not recorded differently on most rosters from cas. So, you would need to make a separate column for them as well. (See comment above.)
Or if you want 3 spp kills one could record them with TDs. (I also don't reccomend that.)
I feel they would need separated out, so that it is easy to look at the statistics earned and easily calculate spp gained and thus skills needed and thus TV . (Or TR)
I don't think extra points for kills will balance the difference gained by ag 4 teams getting a point a catch though.

As for awarding SPPs for catches: No, for exactly the reasons Jackal stated.
Awarding an additional SPP for a kill is something that wouldnt be causing too many balance problems, though I personally wouldnt want that to happen in my league. Your mileage may vary though, and if you want it, do it.
And as for the recording issue: That is not much of concern. Most people use excel sheets or something similar anyway, so just add another column. Or, if you do as I do - using a simple word document and calculate "by hand" after each game - it is even simpler.
