Fenbeasts as BIG guys?

Post by shaniepoo »

Hi guys.
I was talking to a mate the other day while playing BB and he was on about creating a new team/player for BB..."What about having a Fenbeast as a big guy for my team?"... well, what do you think? An ogre mixed with a treeman that can't pick up the ball but can regenerate? Any suggestions?

We had a thread about an Albion team being proposed a while back (based on rugby players and teh dump off skill).

The Fen Beast was proposed by some incredibly wise individual :?:  as the big guy for that team.

I don't think I'd be willing to allow it on any other team, but you could always use the fig as a treeman.

I'd use it as a fig for another Big Guy. Any Big Guy, it doesn't matter. I love that model :)

Or you could try this thread for BB in Albion, which had our rules for a Fenbeast.

Heck you could just use it as a stand-in for an Ogre on an Albion themed team. I would probably use Norse stats just for simplicity if your league isn't into using unofficial teams.

Just use it as a replacement figure for an Ogre or alternatively as a Blighted Treeman.

The Fenbeast rules we thrashed out.

Freebooters

Fenbeasts (Although your actually paying for the Truthsayer/Dark Emssary)

Cost MV ST AG AV
140K 6 5 1 9

Skills: Mighty Blow
Traits: Thick Skull, Regenerate
Racial Char: Big Guy, Bone Head, Fen Walker*
Allied Teams: Any

New Rac. Char.: Fen Walker: Fen Beasts, being part swamp themselves, ignore the special rules for Bogs, and treat them as normal squares.

To use the Fenbeast, you must also have a Truthsayer/Dark emissary model to show the controlling wizard. The Bonehead is the chance of the wizards' instructions not getting through.

Remember to halve the cost (70K) when freebooting.

I'd say you could only use the Fenbeast if playing on the Isle of Albion. Also, ignore the Fen Walker skill, this is part of the Albion rules we drew up I posted at:
