Tyranids deserve to play!

Post by Jimmy Nids »

I'm an avid fantasy and 40k fan. My theory is swarms win against all odds. So i play Skaven and Tyranids.. the two swarmiest armies around. I dabble in other things that catch my interest such as dark elves when it comes to Blood Bowl, but my Tyranids feel left out. So here they are

Tyranids:

Gaunts (0-6) MA8 ST2 AG3 AV7
Stunty, Dodge, Surefeet, Sprint, Swarm*; Agility, Mutation; 60k

Hormagaunts (0-6) MA7 ST3 AG4 AV7
Dodge, Leap, No Hands, Swarm*; Agility, Mutation; 70k

Genestealers (0-4) MA7 ST3 AG3 AV8
Block, Extra Arms; General, Mutation; 100k

Warriors (0-4) MA4 ST5 AG2 AV9
Guard, Extra Arms, *Hive Mind; General, Strength, Mutation; 120k

Rerolls: 60k

High costs have offset the unbalanced stats in past testing so let me know what you think.

Too many starting skills. Way to easy for this team to from 0-60 in no time flat.

In the rookie states this team would rock the world of every other BB team out there and at around a TR of 250 would become a category 5 hurricane.

Tyranids should stay in WH40k. I kinda missed that option.

I also agree with some of the other posters that there are too many (old&new) skills on the team.

No 'Nids in Bloodbowl (or Space Marines, Elder, Iggy Guard, etc).

Wouldn't mind seeing a 40k "sports" game though, in which the 40k races could participate. Something based of the old 2000AD sprots strips like Aeroball, Inferno and Mean Arena would do me fine...[sigh] :(

Awhile back I thought Polo would make a good BB transistion...maybe it just needs some vehicles from 40K.

Polo + Blood Bowl + Eldar Falcons = ??Good???

I once wrote some rules for Warhammer Golf, it was much loved when I worked in store, but much scoffed in head office!

In a nutshell, set up a table with trees, hills, sand traps and even a water feature (used to use tables for the Albion campaign). Choose a tee off point and place a flag a good distance away. Place your golfer at the tee off, choose a club and roll the appropriate number of dice, use a D4 for the ball, keep hitting till you are close to the hole, use a putter to get it in the hole.

Record all scores and re-arrange the terrain for the next hole.

I even started work on special race rules.

It was a good laugh!

See, now I don't understand that attitude.

If someone had gone:

"Silly, silly, silly,
WFB is WFB"

20 years ago, we wouldn't be chatting on this forum about Bloodbowl.

so where in the old world are Nids then :D

i just get a bit sick of new teams being bounced around (agreed i should not look at this part of tbb) that are nothing to do with the Old World or even WFB. Its like saying why not have a space marine gang in Mordheim.

Agreed probably the wrong attitute in my first post, but it is a bit silly
