The Pygmies of Lustria

Post by Furelli »

Pygmy Team

0-16 Pygmy MA 5, ST 2, AG 3, AV 8, Stunty and Guard, 40,000gp

+1 or 2 Big Guys, no idea which might suit the pygmy team maybe an Ogre or Kroxigor.

Furelli.

:o

How about 2 Fen Beasts

Skills ST 5 AG 1 MA 4 AV 9 Throw Team Mate, Mighty Blow,
Negative Trait: Bonehead.
I See Pygmies being smaller than Goblins so drop ST to 1 and give them Right Stuff, and possibly Titchy instead of Stunty from the MBBL rules.

perhaps a couple of Secret Weapon Players with Blowpipe. Make Throw to hit and if hit automatically stunned. This counts as the pass action for the turn.

Just my 2p

I thought about them by seeing an unit on ebay some times ago... TO my mind, I'd rather use gnome, or haflings stats... 8 for AV, considering they are nearly nude ;) ...

Just a silly quesiton: what is a fen beast (any link with a picture ? You would be great !).

Drop the AV8 down for sure.
But I like the idea of blow pipes, they'd be great to knock down ball carriers  .
If it fails to hit then scatter like a missed pass,If you roll a 1 to hit(ie fumble) then the pygmy swallows the dart and is removed as a casualty.
You could use the range ruler to determine distance modifiers etc.

Looks a heck of a lot like the Chaos Halfling team from my league that we've had for about a year now.

http://www.midgardbb.com/MBBLTeams/ChaosYum.html

The Razorback miniatures at http://www.phigsminiatures.com where originally created because of the idea of Chaos Halflings which had Guard and Stunty.

Galak

Oh and last note ... a player with 5/2/3/8 Stunty/Guard should cost a minimum of 50k

50k-(10k for MA 5)-(30k for ST 2)+(10k for Stunty)+(30k for Guard)=50k

DFC. Not a silly question at all, i asked it myself a few weeks back.
Its a model i picked up a few weeks ago in my Local GW. Its history i believe puts it firmly in the Albion Mythos, but it resembles a swampthing type beast. the model looks great for BloodBowl.
DFC: I'll try and mail a pic for you tonight, unpainted as yet.

Oh Yeah av should be 7 or possibly even 6 on thoise Pygmy chaps.

Zynox : Like the idea of swallowing the dart, reminds me of Eddie & Richie of Bottom Fame, trying to catch Fish. remember that???

the fen beast was released for the albion summer campaign event a couple years ago... "shadows of albion" or "mist of albion" or "marketting gimmick to force people to buy ten-dollar single unmounted character models they'll only use in two or three games tops" or whatever it was called...

I dunno....the Dark Emissary was a nice fig (the Truthsayer...um....wasn't) that could easily be used as a Chaos Sorceror.
The fenbeast is great too.

Many thanks... I think I may see what it was... To be true, I remember mor ethe picture (with a kind of bard, or wizard, which looks like an elf)... Is this minis still available , btw ?

PS: if somebody here knows Phil, who ever he is, maybe he would be a little bird coming and saying... "hey, phil, what about your tree folk you talked some months ago" ??? It should be perfect for a pymy team ;)

The one that looks like the elf is probably the truthsayer, and the model isn't very good...or at least, isn't terribly inspiring.

They seem to still be available from GW mail order.

A Wing Commander team would unfortunately not be in keeping with the whole fantasy aspect of Blood Bowl, and indeed would be very difficult to scrape any sort of viable history for within the Warhammer world.

As for the Pygmies my basis was on them being a new type of stunty player getting only access to strength skills rather that agility. The high armour was based upon the description of the old star Arfie Shortzenegger, with many apologies for spelling.

The Fen Beast does indeed look like a great model and would be a welcome addition to the team. :D

Furelli. :?:

GW produced a range of pygmies in the past. My brother still has some of the figures. Damned good figures. DD.
