That's a great idea!!

For me, I ask that we use a fat Dwarf model with stat line 2 4 3 8...

Now, what could we use for the others :?:

Thadrin (Dwarf Lineman) 4/3/3/9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull, Guard, Pass Block. NI.

Weird combo, but I think its pretty close...barring the fact that I'm 6'1" IRL. A Longbeard with Pass Block could surprise the hell out of an unsuspecting Thrower.
(Plays Linebacker and Defensive end - mostly pass rush but can stuff a hole pretty well - on an Amateur football team. Is never going to make a sprint team. Has chronic Shoulder injuries that are forcing him to retire from playing come season's end.)

And the answer is still a definite NO.

Following Thradin's post:

Galak player:

4/3/3/8 Sure Feet, Sprint, Tackle, Thick Skull, Minor Healing, Double Niggle Injury

Galak doesn't move very fast on a normal basis, but is really quick in short bursts (did sprint races in high school). His agility is still good for an "old" guy and his balance is very good. Galak continuous corralling of 2 and 5 year old sons has made him very good at antcipating the nimble movements of those that should be quicker than him. Galak's body is a contradiction ... weak joints (4 dislocations of 2 of them in his life (thus the 2 niggles)), but a rock hard skeleton .... this is good since Galak has suffered 3 head first impact accidents in his life time. Finally, Galak is a certified physical therapist and as a result can use his Minor Healing skill once a match like a normal apothecary (but between kickoffs) on a KO'd or Badly Hurt player to return them to reserves.

Should be another thread, but Thradin asked so I thought I'd throw mine in.

In the same vein as Thradin and Galak.

Poul Piepgrass

6 3 3 8 Thick skull. Catch. Block. Dodge. Masterchef ability. Nigling injury

The masterchef ability allows me to function as a halfling masterchef if i refrain from starting on the field in either half. This ability is allso useable if i am missing the game because of the Nigling injury.

Ok, so for me beign the 16th most poster on the board, i would go for

TiMuN (Star Hobbo) : 5 3 3 9 Block, Stand Firm, Strip Ball, -1 MA, +2 AV (due to weight gained since married!)

that would be a nice pictouresque character to play on the pitch!

Hey i'm in there !

Longfang, Linerat.......8,3,3,7........
Dodge, Sidestep, Extra long legs......
Stupid
(Longfang must always run at the oppositions ball carrier even if this means charging through multiple tackle zones)....
Always late (Longfang is notoriosly casual about time keeping. At the start of a game roll a die. On a 1 or 2 Longfang misses the first drive.)

I'm not in there but if I was a player I would be;
673,10 block, mighty blow and hard. Why? Coz I'm fed up with seeing every one else taller than me! The hard skill would mean that players would have to roll under their strength before they would even think of blocking me. Yes mate I would rule the pitch!! Laters DD.

Hum... I found great the idea...

So let's say DaFrenchCoach 5 5 2 8 Wild Animal , Frenzy, Horns, Thick Skull, Buy a Dictionary !, Mino 3

Buy a Dictionary ! : this -new- trait will allow the player to use a free re-roll after every mistake he makes, due to the fact he's not native player. Be aware: this trait should become I Am a God, with 10 K people network project

Mino 3: this trait allows the player to buy a 2nd edition minotaur 3 very easily   :?:

Galak, have you still got that Tom collector/commish etc team list that somebody posted to the MBBL2 list a while back? Very, very funny. Please share (I'd have posted it if I'd kept a copy). :D

Since Deathwing asked:

Word of warning, you almost have to have played in the MBBL2 to get the jokes here ... Father Tim (currently playing in the MBBL) is a great coach and was one of the 13 very very brave fellows who helped playtest the draft version of the BB2k1 rule set in the MBBL3 (one of 3 leagues that playtested the rules for the BBRC to work out the problems before they were released). (side note: the 13 coaches of the MBBL3 played 218 games of BB2k1 BB in 5 weeks and would have robbed my sanity and my love of the game if not for the help of Dangerous Dave ... in a public forum thanks Dave for that). This post of his is one that I pull out whenever I think the work involved in running the 2 leagues is too much:

Ah, the perils of punctuation. Half-asleep, I read this as: "I plan on
playing Tom." I thought to myself, 'But Tom's not a team.' So I present
to you all:

The Tom Team
=============
50,000 0-12 Programmer Tom 6 3 3 8 G Trip Up
70,000 0-4 Web Guru Tom 7 3 3 7 G A Jam
80,000 0-4 BB Collector Tom 5 3 3 8 G S Double Dauntless
70,000 0-2 League Commish Tom 6 3 3 8 G P Bullet Throw, Honourable
100,000 0-1 OPS Tom* 6 3 3 7 G Spell: Adjudicate
* The OPS Tom counts as an 'On-Pitch Spellcaster'; the -1 AV modifier has
already been taken into account.

ReRolls: 40,000 (Tom's are a model of efficeincy and teamwork)

Big Guys / Allies:
Tom may have one Treeman as an ally. Nobody really knows why.

Apothecary:
Normal Rules

Head Coach:
Must be named 'Tom'. Otherwise, normal rules.

On Pitch Spellcaster:
An OPS Tom spellcaster starts with the spell, Adjudicate.
Successful Result: The OPS Tom has convinced the Referee that the a mystic
order of priests of Nuffle (known as the BBRC) has changed the rules since
the last time the Referee read his rulebook. As a result, the Tom coach
may ignore any one rule for the duration of a single Tom's action.
Failure Result: The Referee ejects the OPS Tom, the targetted Tom, and the
Head Coach of the Toms for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Range: Any Tom on the pitch.
Succeeds on: 5+

Stadium Rules:
There is an ancient tradition of thankless labour for Toms. Occasionally
however, this pays off in the form of gifts given to the Tom team before
the opening kickoff. Blue Swiss chocolate bars, stamps, bears, and BB
miniatures are all tradiditional gifts.

Secret Weapons:
Toms are frequently heard to mutter about the dire peril of facing the Wee Folk, but are not known to actually use secret weapons.

There was once a chaos dwarf team somewhere in Sweden or Norway whose players were named after the people on the bbowl-l list (and some after the coaches friends, IIRC)...
I was a bull centaur on the team.

It's a good idea to do a team like that - especially as you can send e-mail to your players and discuss about the games. Mock the players who failed and demand for an explanation after that failed GFI to the end zone... If you like the role-playing side of BB, this is an excellent way to bring it up better.
