The ogre team in our league is realy having hughe problems his goblins almost miss every 2nd game if they are not niggled out and he needs them so desperatly to move his realy stupid ogres around...

Sadly his 2 PO Block Ogres cause a lot of Cas on the other hand!

Losing Gen access isn't happenening. We suggested it ages ago, but the BBRC have said no.

I Like the idea, but it ain't my call.

TBH, Really stupid should be enough. The Goblins on this team have ENORMOUS targets on their chests. I think Sidestep as their first skill would be a good idea.

Did the BBRC give a reason for not considering it?

I don't like the suggestion of stripping general access from them. Really stupid, high prices and the lineogres should keep the team in check.

Three in fact:
1) There are not enough Strength skills to fill out an Ogre who never rolls anything but a normal roll.
2) They didn't like the idea of more than one Ogre to begin with the further it moves from the Ogre stat line the more it lacks appeal.
3) No desire to create a non-Stunty player without access to General.

Could be a good excuse to create more strength skills.
As for having a non stunty team without General access, aren't the ogres supose to have the same inteligence as some of the stunties?

I was torn between #2 and #3, but in the end, I went with #3. I can see the majority is choosing #2 though, so it looks like I'm outvoted :-?

Two wrongs don't make a right. So why stop at just two?

My thoughts exactly. Well put. A vote for #2.

No, it doesn't, it feels like a troll team.
Trolls=really stupid (why am I here?)
Ogres=boneheads (I was about to...)

Xtreme wrote:I think a finishing touch on teh team taht would greatly slow the eventual power that most of the Ogre rosters I have seen will obtain. would be to take the General access away from them. Just alow them strength. So you would have to get doubles to get Block. Would definatly slow the team down. I think adding this onto Galaks roster makes it the perfect Ogre roster.
I was thinking this the other day regarding Big Guys in general - effectively without easy access to Block, they are still powerhouses but not very reliable.

I thought that possibly if this was done the lack of re-rolls would then balance them enough to remove the negatraits (or at least tone the rest down to Bonehead level).

I abandoned the idea because of a lack of ST skills (especially if they all start with MB), but with a few extra ST skills (so long as they were balanced) I think this could work.
Galak wrote:3) No desire to create a non-Stunty player without access to General.
I don't see a problem with this, Stuntys are at one end of the scale with access to only AG skills, this just puts Big Guys at the other end with only ST access.

Now they are just as unreliable as each other in their own ways, which apparently is the intention - Ogre teams are supposed to be on a level with gobbos/flings.

Even with Block, Really Stupid would still do the job, IMO. Besides, who doesn't like the idea of a Pass Blocking Ogre!
