Against other smashing teams, especially orcs, with some experience Dwarfs are very hard-pressed; orcs have higher AV (on average) And they have str4 players. If the orcs also field an ogre and you leave the Dwarfs with a full str3 squad, they've definitely got a problem (at least that's my experience)

This is something I was thinking about too. I'm hesitant about the AV10, though. Price should be increased or either MB or AV10 should go. I think MB should just be dumped; there's no Str4 blocker on any team that starts with any skills anyway... AV10 should be OK, unless there's a rule against it

Dwarves don't have the strength to bash with Orcs? Since when? Dwarves are the only race to have a lineman position with Block and access to strength. Guard, anyone? Difficulty with Orc armor? Might Blow. Dwarves are the only team that can put those two skills on their linemen at 6 SPPs and have a powerhouse front line.
There is no need to give them an addition player, Big Guy or position. They were considered balanced before Big Guy rules came out and they come with two position players that specifically deal with S4+ goons.

How many orc teams have you seen that need to field any Line orcs, or more then 2?
Orcs have 4 Black Orcs; enough to make a very tough front line, 4 blitzers who are highly mobile, and also start with block + Str access and then there's the Big Guy.
Guard can be nice, but can also be evaded very very easily, especially by Str4 players. Furthermore, Dwarf Longbeards arenot exactly known to learn new skills fast!

You know where I stand by now: Big guys on certain Rosters substituting for other positions 2 for 1.
(Ogre/mino=2 Chaos Warriors, Troll=2 Black Orcs or max two for Goblins, Treemen two on Halfling teams only, Rat Ogre=2 Gutter Runners, Kroxigor=2 Saurus.)
Simple and gets rid of the Big guy arms race.
I could possibly even stretch to Ogre=2 Human or Norse Blitzers.
New Dwarf player? I'd prefer two more Blitzers...
but 3/4/1/9 Stand Firm, Thick Skull 90k (G,ST) would work if you HAD to have one. I like the roster as is.
I think we need to steer clear of tinkering with the existing rosters as much as possible (hence my position that the Necro team should be the old undead minus skeletons with the Werewolf available as a Star player, also available to the Norse).
