The Werewolf Blitzer sounds like a very cool idea. I'll see how the team flies in a league and think long and hard about adding it at 100K.

P.S. The Werehedgehog sounds as appealing as the Wereporcupine

Sorry, forgot to add another thought: The shifting rules on KOs and such seems like too much hassle to me. Who wants to remember which players are "human" and which are "were"?

Of course, it might be cool if the coach had an extra set of Human minis to sub in for his KO'd Wolves. All the same, I'd rather he left the minis in the KO and D/I boxes. His team won't be worth much with all that AV7 after a couple drives, and I doubt they're overpowered for starters.

Just look at that gorgeous converted Werewolf team from which ever compendium or magazine it is...(I'm using the Ork models he converted for my Orc team).
There's the inspiration for the Blitzers.

I think this is a team ready for testing - with or without shifting rules (I can live without, just a little flavour. The idea was to have a bunch of human, or even better norse, minis to sub in)

Bring back Wilhelm as the star player too.

Its all backed up in fluff with the Westside Werewolves too.

I'm quite sure that Wilhelm will return if a Werewolf team ever takes the field again. His 7438 Block, Frenzy, RSC makes him a Blitzer with a pair of skills...and AV+1. Maybe he'll come back with Tackle so he actually has three skills like a normal "Star Player." Maybe even Prince Moranion will one day come up with a useful third skill!

Who knows?

The 2nd edition books ... you had a human form and were form that was it.

The game fluff also mentions that Werebears and Werecats play the game.

I allow in my league a more complex version of the weres based on a conversion of the 2E rules along with the fluff .... I've seen 3 different were teams in my leagues and they all had fun playing the teams.

Acerak's version has potential ... but I'm old school and like the changing rule that was in both 1st and 2nd edition ... after playing with werewolf teams for over a year ... I think we have the rules for the team very balanced and fun.

Galak. I know that Phils Phigs are planning on doing a Werewolf team. Do you know at this stage how many different poses he is planning on doing. And are they based on any specific idea. (IE Werebears etc or just 16 Werewolves )

Phil if/when he gets to it will just be Werewolves.

If you want a great Werebear BB player ... use the one from Mage Knight Metal ... their Werewolf rocks also.

As for the werecat, I have two current favorites. The She-Cat on the Prowl from Grim Reaper Castings (still in production) and the out of print Weretiger from Ral Partha.

Grim Reaper Casting is:

The other company I'll post here is Reaper minis:
http://www.reapermini.com

If you want to make an inexpensive werelycanthrope team go with:
12 Werewolf - Reaper Minis: Dark Heaven 2139 Jean-Paul, Werewolf 2.50 USD
http://www.reapermini.com/photos/dh/2139.jpg
2 Werecat - Grim Reaper Casting: 1128 She-Cat on the Prowl 1.75 USD
2 Werebear - Grim Reaper Casting: 1193 Werebear 2.25 USD

These are the best figs for the least amount of money to create a team.
