In my mind, norse blitzers are easily the third best blitzers in the game, after wardancers and bull centaurs.

Frenzy is still very potent, and i often give it to my blitzers, blockers and big guys when they roll a double. Norse blitzers don't need to roll a double, and they start with it!

Jump up was made a trait so that we wouldn't see players with piling on and jump up anymore. Since norse blitzers don't even have access to agility, if they didn't start with jump up, they couldn't get it, even on a double. Now, they can have the most feared combo in the game (piling on + jump up) after just one normal skill roll. The only things i like to add to this combo to make it as powerful as possible are block and frenzy to make sure you bring the opponent down, and they start with both those skills!

Block, of course, is a no-brainer.

Norse blitzers after one skill (piling on, no contest) are killing machines. After two skills (mighty blow being the obvious second choice), they're as fearsome as mummies.

If you honestly think that norse blitzers aren't one of the best 3 blitzers types of the game, i suggest you try playing against a norse team that has 4 piling on blitzers. I garanty that you'll change your mind.
btw, which is "the best big guy in the game"? And cannot a number of other teams take whichever it is? Not much of an advantage then.
I was comparing norse mainly to amazons, which are the team that ressembles them most. While norse get the best big guy in the game, amazons don't even get a big guy at all.

Oh well, I think we just plain disagree on this one!

On the point of four Blitzers with PO, he is either a very lucky player, or his opponents don't know which players to try and target. Bearing in mind how long it would take to get all four blitzers PO what skills are the Elf Blitzers going to have by then?

How are you going to target them when your whole team is dead or injured? Plus, with IGMEOY, you can't foul forever...

To answser your question, other than the wardancers (which as you can notice i ranked higher than norse blitzers), the elf blitzers won't have much compared to the norse blitzers. Probably block and tackle or block and dodge.

And it doesn't take long at all to get all 4 blitzers to their first skill. After 4 games, at 2 TDs per game, you should already be there.

You must be a fantasic player if you can choose where all your TDs go - on an AG 3 team.

So, have you started your lineup with 4 blitzers then? And won your games, scoring 2TD's? I'd be interested to see this proposed line-up, as you clearly have a high number of re-rolls to get these TD's.

The Norse haven't got the ball control to be this effective, especially with Frenzy players. None of whom appear to have got injured (despite being AV 7 and not having dodge), yet you are doing far better than the block/dodge Elven Blitzers, as you are knocking them straight down, never mind getting through the armour each time (even with PO you'll fail 10/36 on AV 8), and doing more than just stunning them.

The Frenzy is far more effective in the early games for pushing players off the pitch, and you don't get the SPP's for this.

I must admit that i've never played norse personally (it's one of the 5 races that i have yet to try), but i've played against them, and in my experience the blitzers are quite brutal.

I like to vary my blitzers. MB, PO and tackle are all worthwhile skills for a frenzied, jumpup berserker.

The main problem with PO for norse is, as usual, AV7, but if you plan it correctly, the foul against shouldn't be (too) much of a problem. I also find a lineman with DP lurking around helps act as a deterent.

I prefer Human blitzers over Norse blitzers...

Why? Becuase I doesn't have to go for it to make it to the endzone in 2 turns. That and my superior throwers mean I can score quite alot with them and thus make them advance faster. The Norse guy will probably have to score three casualities before advancing.

Blood Bowl game - $60
Cost of a Human Team - $40
The look on your opponents face as his one-turn scorer gets taken down by a thrown rock from the fans – Priceless.
