Or maybe:

Code: Select all

0-12 Linemen  70K 5 3 2 9 Block, Thick Skull {G, S}
0-6  Blitzers 80K 5 3 3 8 Block, Dump Off, Thick Skull {G, S}
0-2  Blockers 80K 4 3 2 9 Block, Stand Firm, Thick Skull {G, S}

RRs 40K

Funny - we had the same idea, inspired by the same earlier discussion! That's collective thinking! :D

I actually rethough it to add Passing skills and call them 'Hurlers'

Giving them Passing skills would fit nicely. The only team who could have 6/8 throwers :D

Er, that it would be cool to separate out the "block" and "tackle" elements of the dwarf lineman. I mean, Black Orc Blockers don't have Block either. To me, blockers has always meant strong but lacking in finesse, whereas blitzers are the ones who always have Block.

These blockers have Tackle to show how they are good at squishing annoying little buggers, and Stand Firm to show their strength.

Er, that's what I thought. :wink:

How abooot:

Code: Select all

0-12 Linemen  60K 5 3 2 9 Tackle, Thick Skull {G, S}
0-2  Blockers 80K 4 3 2 9 Block, Stand Firm, Thick Skull {G, S}
0-4  Blitzers 90K 6 3 3 9 Block, Thick Skull {G, S}

Re-rolls 40K
BTW - Hurlers? As in vomiters? :o Lovely imagery, thanks fot that one. :lol:

Hurlers sort of inspired by the Irish sport and sort of by "To throw with great force; fling.".

The roster I had in mind would not have the best throwers ever. Only MV 5 and and AG 3 without the starting Sure Hands other AG 3s do. These guys might be interesting for the gearing toward lots of short or quick passes (underhand hurls instead of QB style spirals).

Code: Select all

0-12 Linemen  70K 4 3 2 9 Block, Thick Skull, Tackle {G, S}
0-8  Hurlers  90K 5 3 3 9 Block, Thick Skull, Dump Off {G, S, P}

re-rolls 50K
What do people think, Should:

The Hurlers be reduced to AV 8?
The Linemen increased to MV5 (and add +10K?) to encourage more mobile tactics.
Is this Re-roll cost increased enough?
No access to Big Guys or Deathrollers?
0-8 Hurlers or just 0-6?

You've created a slow, gimmicky team that can't score on offence and can't recover from mistakes on defence - and it doesn't have the dauntless trollslayers to handle any kind of exceptional strength.

I like the first team although I think they would need one additional postitional player slot and need tackle.

Well, add two Stand Firm blockers and you've got a very nice start for a defence. And giving the linemen MA 5 would probably more or less make up for the lack of MA6 runners. Besides, Dump Off is nice for a cage even if no one is AG4.

I think a team around this concept could be interesting. I'd advocate it for LRB if it wasn't for the risk that every new interesting team might be followed by several silly ones... :roll: They day I'll rest assure that LRB is in good hands, I'll give up saying no to all additions on pure reflex :)

Seeing as your throwing around ideas for a professional dwarven team how about the following:

0-8 Runners (same as LRB)
0-4 Linedwarves (same as LRB)
0-4 Blitzers (same as LRB)

Re-rolls 40k

This team has no troll slayers because they are to unpredictable for a professional team, however the extra speed and overall higher agility should cover for this.

Cool 8) Pretty interesting - turn the runners into linemen and the longbeards into blockers. Although 8 players with PA access.....

Well, I still like the team that Thadrin suggested more than the other suggestions.

Not agile enough IMO. Pro Dwarfs should be better at using the ball than normal dwarfs. And no ST 4!!! :o Should have 2 blitzers, 2 blockers and 4 runners, something like:

Code: Select all

0-12 Linemen  60K 5 3 2 9 Block, Thick Skull {GS}
 0-4  Runners  80K 6 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Thick Skull {GP}
 0-2  Blitzers 80K 5 3 3 9 Block, Thick Skull {GS}
 0-2  Blockers 80K 4 3 2 9 Tackle, Stand Firm, Thick Skull {GS}

Reroll = 40K

If we want ST4 guys like in Thadrins roster, maybe they could be Black Orcs for an alternative Chaos Dwarf team?

Thadrin wrote: 0-12 Linedwarfs 5/3/2/9 Block, Thick Skull 60k
0-4 Blitzers 5/3/3/9 Block, Sure Hands, Thick Skull 90k
0-4 Blockers 3/4/1/9 Tackle, Mighty Blow, Thick Skull 80k
All get Gen and Str skills. Rerolls 40k

A "slave" CD team, something like:

Code: Select all

0-12 Hobgoblins   40K 6 3 3 7 - {G}
0-2  Goblins      40K 6 2 3 6* Dodge, Stunty, RS {A}
0-2  Orcs         50K 5 3 3 8* - {G}
0-6  Chaos Dwarfs 70K 4 3 2 9 Block, Tackle, Thick Skull {G, S}
0-2  Black Orcs   80K 4 4 2 9 - {G, S}

Re-rolls 60K
No bull centaurs - leave them for the vanilla CD team. Maybe this team should have 0-4 CDs.

*Note that the Orcs and Goblins deliberately have 1 less point of AV, to represent their slave status.
