I still can't stand the idea of there being a position called "thrower" on an ogre team, but seeing as I'm out of dead horses and seemingly alone on that one then there really is nothing else against number 2.

JJ said he won't approve an Ogre team that starts with less than 11 players ... period. And its still his game. :D Also the BBRC supports him on this decision. Less exceptions to the rules is better for the game.

I agree with this 100%. This is the reason I voted for Team 2.

I'm going to bump this thread until I get at least 50 votes. I'll never understand how a forum with hundreds of subscribers cannot generate polls that exceed 75 votes ... sigh.

Because, even though there are hundreds of subscribers, there are, what, 40 to 50 people that post regularly? The rest are lurkers or old subscribers that never come here anymore.

Yeah but Lurkers can vote without ever typing a word that why the polls have always confused me ... at least the polls where the results could actually be used to determine what the BB online folks want for game changes ... Melfaxis's What your Favorite X poll okay ... but some of these have been pretty important.

But I think when a poll shows a 75 or 80% lead on one choice I don't think even lurers could make up for that.

But the larger number of people that participated in the poll would help to show the BBRC how big a portion of the community backs the idea. Just saying 80% of the people think this isn't going to work if only 10 people voted. but if you can say 80% of the people think this way of the 50 or more that participated in the poll then you have a valid point.

I think all of this is pretty much moot until someone gets them to lower the price on the ogres.

I want an ogre team, but a team of twelve ogres and three goblins comes in at 102 pounds, plus postage.

OK, I know it's too late to suggest other ogre teams, but I'll do that anyways. It can always serve as inspiration for discussion.

So here it is:
First remove the rule that say a team has to buy at least one fan factor (for all teams, not just the ogre team). This is the only rule change required. The team does not have any special rules.

The players in the teams are:

Code: Select all

0-12 Ogres 120k (same stats as all other ogres)
0-4 Goblins 40k (same stats as all other goblins)

Re-rolls: 100k
The only possible starting team is 7 ogres and 4 goblins with no apothecary, fan factor or re-rolls, which will give the team a very slow start, which I believe should compensate for the high amount of big players. I have only playtested this team in one-off matches (and it has lost every game), though.

I have my entire Dragon Magazine collection going up for auction at a Game Convention in October along with some other stuff of mine. The proceeds of which the store is going to use to purchase me an Ogre team and a couple extra Throwers.

Voted team 2 as it is by far the most balanced, but without wishing to ruin the party i'd rather not see an Ogre team at all.

To me the whole concept seems flawed, and I agree with Thadrin about the Thrower, what next Troll catchers
