Well, I think it's just as likely that your opponents suck then.Zombie wrote:I think your most experienced coaches suck. I did well with AG3 halflings, and so did Galak. And there's a goblin team in a league i currently play in that finished the season 10-1.Rune wrote:The halflings in our league have AG4 (and access to passing skills), and that makes them a lot more playable. However, even the most experienced coaches have failed to to do well with them. I don't think it is too powerful, though I'd personally prefer that they had AG3 and some other improvement instead.

I'm not the one who played the goblin team. And i can assure you that my regular opponents are pretty good, and so are Galak's. Halflings and goblins rule in low TR range, but you've gotta know how to play them properly. AG4 halflings would just totally destroy the game and be downright unstoppable.

I forgot to say that although this is in a league where i play currently, it's not in the same division as my team (and not the same city), and in their division, permanent star players are allowed. That must have helped the goblins a lot.Valen wrote:I agree though you can have pretty successful stunty teams, although finishing 10-1 is the best I have ever heard of.
It's also an open league, which means that all the beat up teams probably where calling the goblins and halflings coaches in the league for a match, making things easier for them.

sorry, but i have to agree with Zombi on this one.
Not dong anything with AG4 stunty is very bad...
Not that they are bad coach in genreal, but with AG4 halfling, they are!
I won a tourny of 12 players with Goblin (AG3), and it was hard.
AG4 is a nightmare, dont TTM, just dodge and do little cages...
that is my tactic already with AG3, but dodging all the time on 2+ with dodge skill is too easy.
Well may be that they played against Dwarves and CD?

We did a trail run of halflings ag4 costing 70k and found them over priced... sending the team into a death spiral
so we figured that 60k would be a fair price
comparing to a woodelf linemen they are -2 MV -1 ST -1 AV and three skills more for only 10k less...
Yes they can dodge no probs... and landing is easier (50% of the time assumeing inaccurate throw)...
But now they can throw almost like a human... whoopie.
and they still can out run only dwarves and the occasional big'un.
and they are very squishie... ST2 and AV6 and +1 to injury??
and these guys cost 60k to replace...

How can't someone win with an AG4 stunty team. They get to go wherever they like and take the ball with them as well. For an added bonus they won't crash on TTM as much and can give almost any number of assists to your big guys.
The easiest strategy I can think of is to send a couple flings after the ball. Send a few more to help the big guys stomp on the opposition and take the rest and happily romp down the field.
I can just see it. Treeman (Ogres are even worse, but thankfully going away) clobber opponents to death with 3 or more flings cleaning up after words. One fling gets the ball and lobs it to another strategiclly out of movement of the opposition. Then send 4 flings down field. They can only blitz 3 max because of the halflings 5 movement. Just dodge the last one away and lob the ball to him just like any good elf team would.
Normally I try not to insult people, but I'm with Zombie. You'd have to be pretty stupid to not win at least 3/4 of your games with this team.

I'm wondering where you think all this happy romping down field is coming from with move 5...Tnouge Teid Trog wrote:How can't someone win with an AG4 stunty team. Okay, they dodge anywhere on a 2+ (rerollable) so don't ever leave any of them next to an opposing player. So your opponent should only be able to blitz three of them before your movement 5 gets you to the endzone. You should be playing keep away with the ball carrier so that he will always be out of range of a blitz. On your scoring turn just run to mid field in an open square (with super dodge skills this is way to easy) and hand it off, then run halfway down there side and throw it for the last bit.
This team should play at least as good as any elf team, becuase they also suffer from the anything but a one sindrom exept AG4 flings have the extra cash to pay for those all importent rerolls.
If you can't see how this team is horribley overpowered just keep in mind that snotling won a tournement and they only had 1 ST.

Well, if you change their agility, you might as well change the fact that they can have treemen or ogres...Marcus wrote:You don't have to thow the ball, you just throw the halfling carrying it.
I like the idea of Ag4 Haflings, i don't like that they can be thrown...
Suppose that they are not allowed Bigguys, would it still be overpowered?
