Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

To prevent gobbos and halflings from taking Heavy Armour I could add a stipulation about it having a minimum strength requirement of 3 (like Mighty Blow). That way stunties with strength 3 could take it maybe? It'd be funny to see a 4 3 3 7 fling...

Wasn't MB restricted to players with a starting strength of 3?

Just checked LRB and you are correct Redfang. That must be new though, I don;t recall seeing that in 3rd ed.

In any case, we could still use that stipulation for Heavy Armour.

No possibility to raise your AV is the best way to go. Increased AV enhances the chances of player survival simply too much.

I still don't like the thought of a piece of equipment being a trait.

Maybe call it Strong Shoulders, therfore he can where more armour, I would say a GEN Trait minimum starting ST of 3.

This way it falls in line with things such as Strong Arm, and it sounds like a trait, although if you are comparing these, it should really be a ST Trait, which I would actually prefer on second thoughts!

If you made it a ST trait, I would also drop the -1 MV

Your forgetting big guys, they could snap that up easily and have horrendous AV's
Also it's very strange to have a skill that changes your stats permanently which isn't a mutation, for example not even dauntless is permanent!
Maybe have Heavy Guard as a skill then if you get knocked down 1D6 is added to your armour value or 1d6 halved and rounded up! Just a thought!

This way fouls and crowd stoning are still possibleto the original total!
Or ofcourse if you knock yourself down you wouldn't be able to use it! That kinda thing! Extra AV seems to much to easy!

Don't forget this is a trait, so it isn't that easy to get!

Oh and something i didn't consider!
Chaos and Skaven could grab that AND Spikes! Thats +2AV in total! I know it's a ........ 1 in 6 chance of rolling doubles but still!

That's the idea, although Chaos Warriors could only get one of the two, seeing as AV can't go above 10. This would be the kind of skill that would require an appropriately converted mini.

As an ST trait the only downside is no funny goblin conversions!

It's either a General trait or Strength skill, not sure which would be better. Goblins in Heavy Armour would be hilarious.

I like this idea, but think it should only be used in the more brutal leagues. Where player turnover isn't as big of a concern.

I also think it should be a general traight. Making it harder to get but at the same time allowing everyone access to it.

another thought might be to give the player a niggling injury or increass his chances of getting a niggling. Due to carrying around all of that extra weight.

Making it a General Trait would not allow you to put it on your Goblins, Halflings, and Skinks. These players do not have access to General skills normally.

The only way, with the ideas I'm hearing here, to give it to those players is to make it a Strength skill
