I have to say I agree with one of the more common complaints about the new Nurgle's Rotters minis. The rotters themselves look a bit too anemic to be ST 4. Another complaint I've heard about the team is once a team has 4 Rotters, some of the fun is lost in the team, namely acquiring new recruits. Here is a proposal to address both of those complaints.
Instead of gaining a new Rotter when the Beast kills a human sized player, a Nurgle team gains a Plague Bearer.
0-6 Plague Bearer 5 3 2 7 Foul Appearance, Regenerate N Gen, Phy 60k
Plague Bearers may not be hired like the other players on the roster, they may only be rotted. Additionally, Rotters (but not the Beastmen) who kill human sized players that fail to regenerate or heal via an apothecary may also create Plague Bearers. A team may only acquire up to 1 Plague Bearer per match.
At first glance this player may seem completely worthless. Starting with a niggling injury, AG 2 and AV 7 makes the Plague Bearer a rather feeble player. However, if you take a look at the new rotter minis (especially the skinny one) I think you'll agree these stats are not too far off. Additionally, this gives Nurgle teams an option to have more than 5 players with Foul Appearance without having to roll doubles on a Beastman's upgrade. I also feel it helps give the Rotters a different personality from your standard Chaos teams.
What do you think?

It would be nice to see the Nurgle team be a little more different from the standard Chaos team.
When I get my minis in (just won an eBay auction) I might get to work on some ideas of my own.
Maybe the Plague Bearer could be a little better statistically, but be at risk of dying off at the end of every match. Say on a roll of 10+...?

With a re-roll, it's like a four-dice block!

I have to say I loved the old house rules version of the Rotters from the Blood Bowl compendium. The players on the the team slowly rotted away as the team progressed. While it was fun, it was very cumbersome (too many rules and conversions) and not entirely practical for a tournament environment. Consequently, it had no hope of becoming official.Count Zappa wrote:It would be nice to see the Nurgle team be a little more different from the standard Chaos team.

That's why I was thinking the Plague Bearer could have consistent stats... and be at risk of expiring at the end of every match on a set roll.darthnoir wrote: While it was fun, it was very cumbersome (too many rules and conversions) and not entirely practical for a tournament environment.
