Different rules for Vampire Head Coach (looking)

Post by Hrothgar »

I like the idea of the Vampire Head Coach, but is there anyway we can modify or change to rules to make him somewhat of more consistent player that could actually gain SPP and develop with the team rather than being a star player with a different name?

I'm not very good at ideas that are balanced so maybe a few of you guys could point me in the right direction to get me started.

Thanks in advance

The thing that is overpowered is the number of LRB lovers here at TBB. Winning has overpowered fun.

Maybe allow him to be freebooted and gain SPP's, but make Freebooting the Vamp more expensive per skill he has gained?

For instance Freebooting a Rooky Lord would cost 90k (right?) and then freebooting a lord with 1 additional skill would cost 100k or 110k...

Just an idea

That might be the easiest change/fix to do, Redfang.

Give the coach as many SPPs as the team has wins.

If you want him to develop with the team, I kinda assume you mean as an actual player. People don't generally have the money to hire a 90k Star Player too often in a team's career.

Yes I do want him to develop with the team. I'm not looking for an overpowered player, but like I said I like the idea of the Vampire Head Coach. Hmm, any more ideas?

Hmm, I'll take a stab at it, keep in mind I'm somewhat of a newb at creation  .

Count Luthor is 6448 Block, Dodge, Hypnotic Gaze, Regen priced at 180K I believe.

So to freeboot the head coach it is 90K and he has the exact same stats.

How is this to represent his coaching abilities and status. And I'm wanting him to be a regular player on the team.

Vampire Coach #1 | 6448 | Leader, Pro, Hypontic Gaze, Regen | Skill access is General, Strength, Agility, Price??? (I have no idea how to price players)

Vampire Coach #2 | 6548 | Leader, RSC*, Hypontic Gaze, Regen | Skill access same as above. Price??? See above.

Vampire Coach #3 | 6458 | Leader, Dodge, Hypontic Gaze, Regen | Skills same, Price same.

Thoughts? I'm really open to suggestions.

------------------------------------------------
* I think the RSC fits the vampire thing of the team. Maybe allow the Vamp Coach to take RSC on a roll of doubles?

Here's a link to pricing players: http://home.earthlink.net/~agentrock/pdf/pcost.htm

One of the cardinal player creation rules is not to make a player with exceptional strength and block. You might want to think about making him a big guy, just for balance. If he comes bundled with his own leader re-roll, it's not too much of a penalty.

6 4 4 8 Leader, Hypnotic Gaze, Regenerate, Big Guy, OFAB

A player like that's coming out with a cost of around 140,000.

Thanks for the link. I was really wanting to avoid giving him OFAB just because of his coaching status, but maybe he should still have it.

Try Luthor = 6/5/4/9 Block, Dodge, Gaze, Regen 180k

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

maybe this could work:

we use a vampire as a captain of our undead team. his numbers are: 6/4/3/9 hipnotic gaze, off bite, 100k gen, str. he fits perfect in an undead team.

to use a vampire head coach/player, we use it:

6/4/4/9 block, leader, hipnotic gaze 120k gen, str. he is a great player, a perfect head coach and is a balanced player to a vampire team.

sorry luis mate but he seems WAAAAY to powerful. 6/4/4/9 with block, leader and HG for 120k is far too cheap. Why not make him the first 200k basic player?
