40K ball
The "hive mind" skill progression is an interesting idea but I have a feeling that it doesn't work. A better idea would be to have certain players who can transfer their skills to another player as an action for the turn.
As for the rest of the 40K universe? Well the rest of universe is all human isn't it? I find 40K very dull because it seems like the all the weapons and vehicles are the same. Even the orcs (who could have had really cool weapon rulez) are better off just salvaging the human stuff. The chaos guys (another army with potential for cool tanks) just has spikey versions of the same stuff. Boring.
So to make a 40K BB game it would be easy...
1-16 Space Marine/Imperial Guard/Chaos Warrior/Orcs etc 6 3 3 9 Block 80K

I'd much prefer "Bloodbowlamunda".
THAT could almost work you know.
Something like:
0-4 Juves 6/3/2/8 none, 40k
0-12 Gangers 6/3/3/8, * , 60k
0-2 Heavies 5/4/2/9, Block + *, 80k
1 Gang Leader 5/4/3/9, Block, Leader + *, 100k
* The strting skills of each position depend on which house the Team comes from.
Orlock: Block. Orlock Heavies and Leaders get Stand Firm.
Goliath: Mighty Blow
Van Saar: ???
Delaque: Shadowing
Cawdor: Frenzy
Esher: Dodge
Scavvies: None, but may take mutations in progression.
Skill availability is also varied by House.
Throw in some rules for passing to different levels of terrain and you're sorted.
(JUST IDEAS FROM THE TOP OF MY HEAD PEOPLE!)

Necromunda
Interesting Galak, fount of all knowledge, but I don't understand why the need to change the rules at all. Why not just create the teams? I can see that modern technology argument hence different balls etc, but the basic game shouldn't change. What do you actually think about having different versions of the game?
