My friend had a brief foray into 40k, and like all his passions he jumped in way too deep and then burned out really quickly. When he moved away, he passed on a bunch of his extra sprues and bits to me. I have no use for them (after picking out a few choice pieces here and there for BB conversions), so I'm looking to sell them. Hahaha. The fifteen-years-younger me loved Warhammer 2nd Edition and had the startings of a Tyranid army with some pretty cool Brood Brothers, Hybrids, and a Magus. I was pretty geeked about it, despite the game being completely busted and unbalanced.

Now, the prospect of buying, modding, and painting miniatures in any groups larger than 11-16 minis at a time makes me shudder. I can paint about two Blood Bowl teams a year, so that means I could paint a modern era Tyranid army in about.... a decade?
