I think there was only one 'official' edition but the rules got modified over time.

Two true expansions (Deathwing and Genestealer) and a selection of scenarios and campaigns from WD in a book (Space Hulk Campaigns).

You can normally find it on ebay (as you prolly know) and there's a few versions of it turned into PC games :)

Yeah two editions... Remember now... Bottom one is 1st edition, not sure about the difference in rules, though you can download the full 1st edition (apart from minis obviously) here: http://spacehulk.barsoom.cc/sh1edinv/

You really need to get the 1. ed.
It has the better rules and more athmospheare.
i´ll allso suggest that you get the Deathwing exspansion.
The Genestealer exspansion changes the game a lot, and isn´t really worth buying.

So go for Spacehulk 1. ed and Deathwing and you will have a fantastic game.

no. it´s stricltly a 2 player game.

There is rules for solo play included in Deathwing, but they are not that good.

It is possible to make it into 3-4 player mode by splitting the controll om marines between severel people on the bigger levels.

go get it. You wont regret it.

about 10 years ago it was huge here in Denmark.
I went to about 10 tournements and arranged 4 myself.

I am just a huge fan of the game :)

Unfortunately my (former) friend that had all my spacehulk (2 of each set and some extras, 100 terminators and 150 genestealers) has moved abroad and i have no contact with him anymore

I have thought about getting things for it again via ebay, but so far my money is being used on other things.

One of the best games GW produced (along with BB of course). Played it too death with a mate of mine, sadly though not for a long time.

Agree that Genestealer changes the nature of the game and it's not necessary.

Still have lying around in the loft somewhere and this thread puts me in mind to go dig it out... :D

Well, Spacehulk... here the whole mess started with ! I just wanted to exchange the plastic terminator with metall ones.... and look at me now ! It started with SpaceWolves Terminators....

I collected a lot of White Dwarf articles and boards for SH. I think, i got the campaign book somewhere, too .

As i knew , Frank is thinking about building a 3D Spacehulk ... yes, Frank like the Frank, the BB pitchbuilder ! So, maybe the next tournament he can come over with suitcases full of parts... :D

Here some links out of my archive:

No, no, no.
- Nottingham (BBGT): I decided to build other stadiums (2-part) for transporting in a big suitcase, I ordered yesterday. No space for Spacehulk.
- Cologne (Dungeonbowl): Next year we will travel by train, so no space for Spacehulk.
- Mannheim (MMM04): "Ork ärgere Dich nicht" is enough for the evening.

@Dave:
At the "Spiel 2003" in Essen a Munich shop sold 1.Ed. Spacehulk for 15€ (german Manual, no Dices and no box). The Terminators looks ugly, but the Genestaler are the same as in the 2.Ed.
Normally it's expensive on ebay to get the 2.Ed., because it contains 10 actual Terminators, the same you pay 25€ for 5 minis.

No, no, no.

Frank
Never say never again.
After having about 20 stadiums at home, I found time for the 3D-SpaceHulk project.

All prototypes are made, the silicon moulds ready.
Next weekend I can cast all tiles used for SpaceHulk AND the Genestealer AND Deathwing extensions.
Then I have to find a painting scheme. I want to present a small mission at the gaming fair in Stuttgart (26.-29.10.2006).

Hi Frank- technically you never said 'never'. You just said 'no'. Three times.

I've never played SH but am intrigued by anything Frank builds up!
