Flamebowl 3: Rejects Raffle

Hi all,

As you know the Flame bowl (here viewtopic.php?f=59&t=31662) is run in aid of Cancer Research UK, last year raising in excess of £1000.

As those of you that are lucky enough to have been before know, there is a raffle to raise further funds. Previously the FB has relied on generous donations from the Co-op, and other outside sources. However, for various reasons, this year, donations have been harder to come by. Yes, this is an appeal.

In the spirit of Christmas, and reflecting FB's status as the most festive of blood bowl tournaments, this is an appeal designed to give old models a new home. I'm sure we all have that dusty box of old figures, doomed never to see the gridiron. We want those figures! One man's aborted modelling project is another's inspiration!

If you have some unwanted figs please consider donating them to a worthy cause. We're looking for small bits and bobs that could be raffle prizes. A box of plastic orc bits, or headless star player fig., anything that someone could potentially make use of. I have a Heresy Deathball Ogre, that I was going to use in a Pact team that never got made, so we're underway.

Thanks!

PS I'm sure any non nerd donations would be warmly welcomed too.

I thought you were trying to find Joemanji a team to play in... ;)

Excellent idea though!

Is no thread sacred to your 'banter'?

You don't like banter?

Banter was / is one of the best bits of the FB. Keep it up! Any thread. :)

I've got all sorts of little models knocking around that a painting / modelling n00b such as myself has no use for. Plastic Dungeonbowl men and the Deathroller I won at Gryphon spring to mind. The Orc team from the box set as well, iirc. I'll have a decent root through next week, and you can have anything I find.

That's more like it :)

Good news Nick - I hear the Waterbowl league have a whole load of cheap crap lying around too. They'll be on display in November in the shape of their various Flame Bowl Teams... ;)

PS - (serious) I too have quite a bit of lead that I would be happy to part with in aid of a good cause.

Nick, I'll throw the Purple People Pounders into this - a partially painted plastic orc team.

I like Flame Bowl and I don't like cancer, so I'll donate a copy of 1st edition Blood Bowl. Probably some more odds and sods if I can find them.

Cheers
Joe

Nick, along with any figs/whatever that I find, I'll offer up a free place to next year's Stunty Slam.

I have loads of old stuff from when i 1st started painting 15 years ago but it's badly painted (nice and thick layers of paint) and loads of stuff ive triyed to strip paint off but are in a bit off mess. If they are of no use then i will look through my other stuff, i know i have about 1000pts of unpainted 40K Ork's that ive been meaning to paint for years but know deep down inside that i wownt ever get round to it.
