Beantown Brouhaha II (Boston, MA - 06/25-06/26)

The second annual Beantown Brouhaha will take place on June 25th and 26th. Over the next two weeks I'll update the webpage to reflect this year's complete rules and information.
Last year, gken1's Desert Kings claimed The Hand of Roze-El. Will your team be the one to claim it from his wicked grasp?
I was planning to include a round of Street Bowl at the Brouhaha this year, but based on feedback from the registered coaches and last year's attendees I have decided not to. Instead we may run a one-day Street Bowl tournament later in the year.
In the meantime, if you have any questions feel free to contact me directly or post here.
Thanks,
Rob

Zinak and I will probably make it back. Hopefully we ll drag along a couple more from Harrisburg. Add in some Philly guys and we may have a strong PA contingent.
Are you sure about the Street Bowl round? Could really change the face of the tourney... would it require seperate rosters? Seperate rules? Could be a cool change up, but could also add confusion and unwanted complexity.

Awesome!
It adds a little complexity, but the rules are a free download and it should be fun. If folks hate it we can always scrap it for III, but I think it will go over well. Heck, if enough people coming this year hate the idea we could scrap it for this year.

I could always do a separate one-day Street Bowl tourney later in the year...I posed the question about eliminating Street Bowl as round 3 to the list of folks that registered already. I'll let you know what the group thinks
Hopefully some folks from The Rhody Rampage will be making the trip up for the Brouhaha this year as well.
Gken1 will be unable to defend The Hand of Roze-El due to the pending birth of his son/daughter, but CyberHare is talking smack already about not settling for 2nd best this year...

There will be no round of Street Bowl, and Skink Fury, Grasshopper, and I are talking about a separate one-day Street Bowl event later in the year.
I was making final updates to the site (and checking them) when I ran out of bandwidth, so as soon as it's back up I'll finish checking to be sure everything is up to date.
p.s. We got plugged by Jervis on the specialist-games Blog

More and more folks are signing up / mentioning that they intend to be there on the NAF site
This just keeps getting better and better!
I just talked to GW - Harvard Square and they are under new management (Boy am I glad I called today!!). The new events manager there, Sean, is a "Blood Bowl Nut" by his own words.
I just forwarded him all the info on the event and we'll keep moving things along.

Ah man, I knew I should of painted up the lizardmen instead of the High Elves.
Althought I wonder how many wooden spoons it takes to get a cheerleader?
Speaking of all good things Brouhaha, I did put my high elves on round bases so there should be no rioting. And they are not pink, hopefully in the next couple of weeks I can get some pictures online so everyone can make fun of my painting skills.

I would bet it would take quite a few wooden spoons before someone felt THAT much pity and gave ya one
Speaking of the wooden spoon I did find the prize that you
don't want to win while in my travels this weekend.

Most of the prizes have been gathered and trophies are in the works. We're up to sixteen registered coaches, which is great!

Yeah, yeah, I got lucky.
More importantly, I hope everyone made it home safe and sound! It was great to see old friends again and meet all the new guys as well! I hope to see you all again soon
I know I did this yesterday, so for those of you that were there, you can just sit back and bask in the deja vu.
I want to thank a lot of folks who made this event possible :
Games Workshop! Thanks to Jervis and Andy for generously donating prizes and for making the game we all love so much! The staff at GW-Harvard Square especially Sean and Jon. These guys were wonderful hosts and I really appreciate a GW store showing such strong support for Blood Bowl. Thank you guys!
My wife and children for putting up with me and my many hobbies
Brian St. James (CyberHare) and Jim Lanier (Old_Man_Monkey) for giving me the tourney bug! Again to Brian for signing up NAF members at the event, running Triple Skulls, and for giving me two of the most difficult games I have EVER played!
Tom Anders (Galak Starscraper) for his generosity in supplying a BB.net limited edition miniature for our tournament!
Kent Nelson (Zinak) for painting a wonderful NAF ogre as a prize!
and...
To each and every coach that came to the event! Thank you!!

I know a lot of you travelled quite a distance, and I really appreciate it!! I hope you had a great time and I hope to see you all at The Beantown Brouhaha III
We really need that worship smiley back. Can we import it from the NAF site?
