@ narcotic. Yes, Scotland has it's own football league, but it bears no relevence as far as national qualification goes.

Really, this isn't a big issue, or at least it shouldn't be.

Article on FIFA rules here:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 498082.stm

I really hope we're not going to have people to want to play for their own countries (but can't) questioning the eligibilty of some of those that are playing.

(You know I've never known a single tournament cause so much controversy as this one, we know Olaf's a loose cannon, then we had barking mad Danes, then the 'Celtic Nations' bogus team..now apparently aspersions on dubious Scottish ancestry.... I'm almost tempted to give up on the whole thing and leave you lot to it....)

My parents were both born in Scotland, I'm only a 1st generation Canadian. Heck my Dad even plays the Bagpipes, & has competed in the World Highland Games Pipes & Drums Championships in Scotland a few times. I myself have been there twice. Do I still not count?

Technically you would be Scottish Skaven.. I guess it depends how you feel about your country of birth compared to your culture of origin...

for my part I was born in Scotland to Scottish parents and Scottish grandparents and lived there for 26 years before finally breaking free... if the whole shitty country disappeared into the North Sea I would only mourn for a few lost panoramic views which I can get bigger and better in Alberta anyway.... with any luck it might suck England down with it too..

So, you see, nationality is largely a matter of birth, but can also be a matter of choice too...

I'm hoping Holland get to play Scotland at the Eurobowl 2005 though... we'll stuff them!:D

well ultimatly its down to the organisers of the thing

I don't have an issue with a scottish team not being 100% scottish

though I do have an issue with the English team not being 100% English but thats not a problem

If anyone is going to really get that bent out of shape over it then they need to take a reality check and look at whats been happening as a result of that tsunami

there are more important things to worry about

If scotland can assemble a team they will be more than welcome just like any other nation, if your that upset over it then don't attempt to get on your own national team, there are plenty of other tournaments to worry about

and at the end of the day its all just a bit of fun with beer and England beating everyone

Amen! :)

If its that big a deal i wont want to play anyway. i dont want any bad blood for my first BB tourney. Im having severe doubts now about going to this years BB if this is how BB'ers talk to each other about a tourney. Whats the point in playing the game if you dont have fun? :(

As of now i wont be taking any more part in this. I would like to go even to watch as it could be potentially great fun but sorry valen, to keep the peace ill have to step down heh! ;)

TBH it is getting rather anal this discussion :( What ever happened to a bit of accomodation, sportsmanship and friendship?

And folk still wonder why TBB has such a bad name
