I think it would be fun to have a cruise tournament. It would obviously not be cheap, but I was looking at doing it on a transatlantic cruise. Kind of a bridge the new and old world theme.
Is there an interest in this? It would probably be West-to-East in May 2016 or 2017.
Random thoughts about why I like this:
Play games on the days not in port.
Hopefully get a good international mix of coaches.
Most of the days not at port are at the beginning so we can meet each other and have people to hang out with during the port days at the end.
I admit, my wife is wanting a transatlantic cruise and I love cruises. I'm probably going on this cruise anyway. To me, this is just a way to make the vacation even better.
Is anyone interested?

Yes, it does sound like fun. When I win the lottery, to be able to fund it, I'll let you know

Re: Transatlantic Tournament Cruise
The cruise I'm looking at is less than $900. Yes there are plenty of other expenses involved, but for a two week vacation, it's pretty cheap.
$900+ is ridiculously expensive for a small tournament. But, quite reasonable for a two week all-inclusive vacation. The tournament would just be a bonus.
(The other huge expense is airfare.)

Re: Transatlantic Tournament Cruise
I think this would be an excellent vacation, and something I'd love to do, ideally with my whole family, depending on the kid-friendliness of the cruise.
That said, my chances of being able to do it in the foreseeable future hover around 0%.

Re: Transatlantic Tournament Cruise
BB tournaments on a cruise make them about 1% more desirable.
That means I'm about 1% interested.
Though if I'd had $900 spare I'd have been going to the WC.

I love the idea. Can't really afford it right now.
