I'm doing a team for the NAF Championship again this year. I had a bit of a painting slump in 2024, so wanted something fun and the new gnome team delivered. They had a good variety of interesting and unique players to paint, as well as some lovely models.
First thing I always start with is the linemen. Gnomes tend to favour bright colours, so blue armour with a red top and some green extras were the colour scheme I went for. As there were 2 sets of 4 I gave the first batch grey beards and the 2nd a mix of blonde and brown.
Next was the foxes, they were the quickest to paint as they didn't have any clothing or armour, so it was just a case of doing the orange, black and white fur and then the ball one of them was carrying.
Have finished the illusionists, beastmasters and one treeman, still need to take pics of them. Not sure if I will have time to do stars this year, will depend on how the 2nd treeman turns out as his bark is proving tricky to get right.
