Javabowl???

However you play online - Java, Vassal, Email, Cyanide etc - talk about it here.
This is also the place for discussing the various tools for managing leagues, teams and so on.

Javabowl???

Post by Valen »

A couple of queries for you guys.

1 Is it possible too get the handicap table working on Javabowl?
2 Is there an easy way too create HTML files for teams and manually updating them, for SPP's, player rolls, etc....

The reason for these questions is that 3 out of the 4 members of the MUDBATH have recently joined FUMBBL and are busy enjoying playing with the client, and would like too start using the client for MUDBATH league games, but we would need the handicap table working, and we would still need too play some in tabletop form as 1 member doesn't own a PC.

There are a couple you can find link to on my site. They are quite basic. Jbb can read html roster exported by Milo's team tracker excel spreadsheet, but apparently it is not updated to new LRB rules.

Also you can try the PBEM html. JBB can read these rosters as long as there are no stats with bold tags. I think Ronald is going to add an option to disable the bold tags for stat increases.

Actually I tried to push SkiJunkie and Galak to make "PBEMBB Team Creator" and "Java Blood Bowl" compatible. (pbembb.com)

Right now The Team Creator is almost perfect and as far as I know only one Issue Remains: Statistics (Characteristics) Changes recorded by Team Creator cannot be read by Java Blood Bowl.

And you have to use a *.XLS sheet for match records.

Galak talked about a major update to team creator a while ago that would even include a match record log, I hope it will see the light soon, and I hope they sync with SkiJunkie before it is released.

Ski, can't YOU contact Ronald Lokers and get on his nerves a little ? Seriously you have a louder voice since you are the Guru on this one...

I can provide a Teams.INI file that is designed for Java Bowl and includes al Skills spelled correctly for JBB and so on.

I'm not in the business of getting on peoples nerves. Ronald and Galak know about it. They will add that option when they have the time.

If there is a list of skills that the PBEM tool uses that doesn't work in jbb you can give it to me. It is relatively easy to allow for multiple spellings.

For instance, in jbb, you can use "hail mary" or "hail mary pass" and both are recognized.

Velon before I found fumbbl.com I was in a small league that used JavaBB. For the Handicaps we would just roll as normal and then implement those options that we could by making the changes to the team roster. Those changes that were not possible we ignored and rerolled. It Skewed the handicap results some but it still worked pretty well. We all used Halfling Scribe to create and edit our teams. It worked out well and we had some great fun going through our little tourney.

Am I the only person in the world who DOESN'T have excel?

I use Avi Stiletto's program...the team creator that - at least once - came with the javabowl program, and update with Tim's halfling scribe.
