the tool consider you can try an intercetion if you re next to the catcher, and i remember asking for it in the rule querry and everybody says taht you must be between thrower and catcher..

TXXX
XXXX
CDXX

T thrower / C catcher / D defender

The tool said that D could try an interception ...

I'll be interested to see that.

Chet was the only who had original told me that D could intercept when Ronald and I added the interception code to the PBeM program.

We had this discussion last night

LRB 1.3 pp 22
To be able to make an interception, the player must be between the player who threw the ball and the player who is meant to receive it, and the plastic ruler must pass over at least part of the intercepting player’s base.
So, we decided that "between" does not include level, and therefore you can't intercept if level.

And Chet said between included level.

So I'll add it to the list for October clarification, but at this point the PBeM tool stays as programmed since I specifically ran this question up the BBRC flagpole when I was programming the interception coding which means that level is a possible interception for the MBBL and MBBL2.

Well isn't there a chance that part of the plastic ruler could cover a small portion of a player who is level, considering that you place the throwers end part in the middle of the square this is kind of possible.

All respect meant to Anthony and Nighthawk, but until I'm told the answer by a source on par with the previous answer, I'm sticking with the answer I was given.
