Tournament in AUSTRIA 2004 - INTERESTED?

Post by Magier »

I'm considering to organize a tournament here in Innsbruck, Austria in 2004.
What would you guys think? I have yet to set a date and would like to check first to see if there's any interest before I start organizing the whole thing :)

The local BB scene isn't that big (and pretty inexperienced as well) so I wouldn't mind to get some international players too because otherwise it's more of a city championship where the outcome is already determined. ;)

how expensive is austria in terms of accomodation? never been before so it might be nice to visit - can't guarantee anything yet though.

should be able to find a cheap ryanair flight though :)

Austria's not too bad - you can compare it with germany. I suppose I could organise either a cheap hotel or youth hostel or a place for your sleeping bag. ;)

What time have you roughly in mind: Winter or Summer?

I'm not skiing, so i'd prefer summer, should be cheaper as well :D

This would be also interesting for the guys in our league. We are always looking for a new challenge. Some took part in Mannheim, Nottingham and Indianapolis - so why not Innsbruck too. We also thought about a tournament in Vienna so maybe we can organise a big AUSTRIAN BB-event together!

Sounds good. Here in Innsbruck, only a bunch of rookies is currently playing but I hope I'll be able to beat them into shape for 2004. I'm the only veteran player here at the moment but things are looking good with 14 new players now.

We probably get a huge gym-hall for the tournament but it would look stupid if only 12 coaches attend so I'll wait for some response and then try to organize a suitable place...

Innsbruck is quite near to Munich, so if I'm not abroad for some conference or work, count me in!

PS: and perhaps some other Munich guys too, all with tournament experience :)

No news about that tournament? Italians are very interested... Austria is the easiest foreign country to reach for us in the north-eastern part
