Posted: Sun Apr 11, 2021 9:12 am
So this event has been NAF approved for a while but I realised I hadn’t put a post up on here...
Tournament Location
Address The Castle Inn
Fitzroy Street
City Sandown
State Isle of Wight
Zip Po368hy
Nation United Kingdom
Information
After hiding from Nurgle’s plagues for the last year the Isle of Wight’s Speedbowl finally returns in May! As always this is with a one evening event for 1000TV teams, with quicker games, and 3 matches in one evening for some beer-fuelled Blood Bowl shenanigans! This time with the new 2020 rules...
Same event rules as before as follows -
You must have a NAF ID to enter, £5 entry fee payment on the night. Capped at 12 coaches only this time.
· Matches will be the usual 8 turns per half, but there is a 2 minute turn rule!
· All teams will play 3 matches during the evening, match-ups to be randomly determined after each round of matches completed.
· The event will use the current 2020 edition rules.
· The event is open to all the regular 27 races (plus the newly approved Khorne & Slaan teams), to a maximum TV of 1000k. Note that Bretonnians and the old underworld roster cannot be taken as they have no rules in the current edition.
Star players can be taken if teams have 11 regular players
. Speedbowl is a resurrection tournament with all injured players returning for the next game.
. Teams can allocate one normal skill to one player before game 1, they may allocate one skill to another player before game 2 and a one to a third player before game 3. This must be represented with a skill ring. No player may be allocated more than one skill. Stunty teams can take 2 normal skills each game, or one double skill.
· Inducements may be taken as normal, but special play cards cannot be taken as inducements.
Scoring
• Win a game: 3 points
• Draw a game: 1 points
• Lose a game: 0 points
In event of tie points, tie breakers are (in order), TD diff, CAS diff, TD scored, CAS scored, penalty shootout (3 block dice roll off)
As always there will be a trophy for the winner, and prizes for the top three teams!
Event to be held at The Castle, Fitzroy Street, Sandown, Isle of Wight on the evening of Saturday 29th May. Doors 6pm for a 7pm kick off so we can finish by 11!
Anyone travelling from the big island, the venue is close to Sandown train station which links directly to Ryde/Portsmouth
*Note - Obviously the event is quite close to the date that pubs can reopen after lockdown, in the event of lockdown being extended then the event will be postponed until later in the year*
