Information

Sandbowl is a special one day event for 1200TV teams, for 4 matches in one day for more beer-fuelled Blood Bowl shenanigans!

This will be the first time the event uses the BB2020 rules!

Special rules as follows -

Star players can be taken as part of the starting 11 players, and every team must include at least one star player- this is their event after all! All NAF approved stars are permitted. If the same star turns up for both teams one is clearly an imposter and will be found out on the pitch...

The game is played in sunny weather - as such all 11 & 12 weather results are treated as 3 & 2 respectively. Each team gets a crate of ice lollies per match which they can use once per game to allow one player to ignore the effects of a single failed sweltering heat result!

Other rules -

You must have a NAF ID to enter, £8 entry. Payment via PayPal to kynin@hotmail.co.uk please cover fees.

· All teams will play 4 matches during the day, match-ups to be determined after each round, using Swiss system. 4 min turns will be in effect for matches to ensure matches run to time

· The event will use the current 2020 edition rules including all spike magazine updates

· The event is open to all the regular 27 races from the BB2020 rulebook and teams of legend (plus the NAF approved Khorne and Slaan), to a maximum TV of 1200k. Note Brettonians or the previous Underworld roster cannot be taken.

. Sandbowl is a resurrection tournament with all injured players tucking in on ice creams and returning for the next game!

. Teams can allocate one normal skill to one player before game 1, they may allocate one skill to another player before game 2 , one to a third player before game 3, and one to a fourth player before game 4. This must be represented with a skill ring. No player may be allocated more than one skill. Stunty teams can take 2 normal skills each game, or one double skill (underworld goblins and skink/krox teams count as stunties)

· Inducements may be taken as normal, but special play cards cannot be taken as inducements.

Scoring

• Win a game: 3 points

• Draw a game: 1 points

• Lose a game: 0 points


In event of tie points, tie breakers are (in order), TD diff, CAS diff, TD scored, CAS scored, penalty shootout (3 block dice roll off)

There will be a trophy for the winner, and prizes for the top three teams! Plus a prize for the top stunty team!

Event to be held at The Shanklin Beach Hotel, Isle of Wight on Saturday July 24th 2021 Doors 9am for a 09.30 kick off!

Please note change to the venue and start time. This is due to the anticipated numbers (we would have been limited to 16 players at the usual pub venue)

Should this be BB2020, not Blood Bowl, on the NAF listing?

I don’t think there was an option for that when I submitted to event to naf, but I would assume most people would expect to be playing the current version of the rules?

The rules is not the issue. It's logging matches under the correct variant for rankings.

Capping this at 30 players for now, still plenty of spaces available though

Will be asking for rosters to be submitted by the weekend before the event. This will also be the cut off point for anyone to sign up to play

So registrations are now closed! Up to 22 this year which is great (and my snotlings get to play too woop woop! )

Coaches you will need to bring -

Your team! All players must been numbered and should be painted if possible
Two printed copies of your roster (one for you one for your opponent) Please send me a copy if you haven’t already
Dice
Skill rings (4 needed)
Pitches - please bring one if you have one, but there will be a spare ones to use

Face masks are not mandatory but if you want to wear one that’s fine of course.

And finally, if anyone wants to eat some lovely hot food onsite (and I highly recommend they do as it’s great!) then the venue will take lunch orders after game 1 ready for the lunch break after game 2
