ARBBL Open 2018 - 24th/25th March, Andover, Hants.

ARBBL is back for it's 11th year.
This year, and probably going forward, it is to be held at St Anns Hall, the venue for the Pick'n'Mix, NOT the usual scout hall.
Rules pack is attached. NAF sanctioned.
Regardless of the NAF vote in September,
NO KHORNE or BRETONNIAN teams.
Due to hall being in use,
12noon start on the Saturday - see the rules pack for schedule.
As in previous years, no alcohol in the venue - we don't have a license, and we don't want to get kicked out.
Max of 40 spots
Thanks for the prize support to:

Sukubus Studios

For anyone looking to stay in Andover for this:
We had some support at work from another depot, and while talking to the shift manager he mentioned they were staying at a Travelodge in Salisbury. When I asked why they weren't staying at the local Travelodge (about 2 minutes walk from the depot) he said it is booked weeks, if not months in advance, as is the Premier Inn.
So if you were thinking of staying there keep an eye on their websites for availability.

Moodygit wrote:Heads up for those not using our forum. The cub group we use have decided that they are no longer able to let us have the hall on our night. This means that as it stands we will be disbanding at the end of August. Maybe earlier as I don't want to give them any money at the moment due to the way it has been handled.
We have had a good run of over twenty years and have met a lot of good people on the way.

So what does that mean for the ARBBL Open 2018? Nothing, as it will still be going ahead, and is 99.9% likely not to be in our club venue anyway.
Going forward, who knows. With the probable lack of regular gaming it's likely that I'll lose the will to run a tournament as well.

Afraid not, nor other days of the week, at least at a price a small club can cope with.
Gary has spent a few months earlier this year looking at halls, and even after the scouts trebled their prices they were still far and away the cheapest (the next one was double the price, and they couldn't guarantee the hall more than a fortnight in advance).
Being a small town, and fluctuating between 6-10 regulars means the monies needed don't make it viable.
The "Pick'n'Mix" hall would happily take us, but they're booked up every weekday evening (though it sounds like we get first dibs if any group leaves), and a weekend doesn't work for many.

Wierd you would think that some place would leap at 6-10 people on a quiet night in the corner drinking and eating pub food. Ah well the country is different. My parents home town the takeaway places shut before the pubs "to avoid the drunks" Go figure?
