Roll up, roll up, it's Bloodbowl time :D I am proud to announce the inaugural Dragonbowl.

Dragonbowl will take place in Cardiff on December 3rd 2016. It will consist of 4 games taking place on one day.

Where?

Dragonbowl will take place at Cardiff Firestorm. http://www.firestormgames.co.uk/location-opening-times

When?

December 3rd 2016. Registration and briefing will start at 08:30

What's occuring?

You will play four 2 hour games of Blood Bowl largely using the CRP. First round will be paired off at random and the rest will continue as Swiss resurrection.
You will all be fed lunch consisting baguette, fruit and crisps (details to follow nearer the date).

How much?
The event will cost NAF members £15 - non-NAF members will pay £20(which includes NAF registration).
Payment to be made via Paypal to dragonbowlcardiff@gmail.com (please gift the payment so i receive the full amount)

This my first shot at hosting a BB tournament. My main aim is that we all have a lot of fun.

All players need to remember that Firestorm will be open for business to all their regular customers on the same day. We will be representing our community and I expect everyone attending to behave in an appropriate manner. In addition, all players will need to bring their team, templates, dice and rulebook. I will be taking registration by email the week prior and will provide each of you with a printed copy of your team sheet on the day.

Format

All teams will be tiered as follows and will receive differing amounts with which to build their teams.

Tier 1 - 1,050,000 Gold
Amazon / Chaos Dwarf / Dark Elf / Dwarf / Lizardmen / Orc / Skaven / Undead / Wood Elf

Tier 2 - 1,100,000
High Elf / Human / Necromantic / Norse / Pro Elf

Tier 3 - 1,150,000
Chaos / Chaos Pact / Khemri / Nurgle / Slann / Underworld / Vampire

Tier 4 - 1,150,000
Goblin / Halfling / Ogre

Each team from Tiers 1-3 may take up to 1 Star Player in addition to a minimum 11 rostered players.
Tier 4 teams may take up to 2 Star Players in addition to a minimum 11 rostered players.

In addition, Tier 4 teams get the following perks for free.
Goblin: 2 bribes / Halflings: Master Chef / Ogre: 1 bribe

All inducements in the CRP are available apart from Special Play Cards, mercenaries and wizards.

However, there is an additional inducement available for hire: Celtic Wizard - 200,000.
The Celtic Wizard is unable to cast the Fireball and Lightning Bolt spells. Instead, he can cast the spell Zap!
This is identical to the Random Event Special Play Card that turns the target into a frog (as detailed on p61 of the CRP).

Any team with all the players named will be given +1 Fan Factor (named players play better)

Skills pack.

All teams may take 6 skills in total (available on a normal roll for that player).

You may not choose any additional skill more than twice.

No Stat upgrade may be chosen.

Skills may be stacked in any combination you wish. So, you can give 6 players one skill each; or you can give one player all six skills; or you can give 3 players two skills each etc etc

Any player who is given two or more skills may choose one of them as if he/she/it rolled a double.

Scoring

No SPP are scored during each game. All injuries and deaths are healed before the next game.

All teams must be painted with a minimum 3 colours as well as being based. Any that are deemed not to be by me will have -5 Fan Factor modifier for the Fame roll at the start of each game. All models must be WYSIWYG - proxies are not allowed.

You will score 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a Loss.

Ties will be split at the end as follows: Head to Head (two way ties only), Strength of Schedule, nett TD difference plus nett Casualty difference.

Qualifying casualties are those that would normally earn SPP.

Illegal procedures will not be called throughout the tournament.
The 4 minute turn limit will not be specifically enforced throughout the tournament. There is however a strict 2 hour time limit for each game. If an official believes that a game will not be completed within the allotted time they may enforce the 4 minute rule.

There will be trophies for the winner, most casualties and most TD in addition to assorted other certificates for the minor places.
Please note that there will be no Stunty Cup. I have given more TV to the stunty teams as well as freebies and a beneficial skill package. If you want to bring Stunties, then please do - but bring your A game and earn your trophy ;)

Schedule for the day is as follows:

Registration/Briefing 08:30 - 09.00
Game 1 09.00 - 11.00
Game 2 11.15 - 13.15
Lunch 13.15 - 14.00
Game 3 14.00 - 16.00
Game 4 16.15 - 18.15
Presentation 18.15 - 18.30

Put me down as interested but it's the day before Mrs Wobert's birthday so a pass may not be forthcoming.

Just tell her that you need to go out for the day to go shopping for her present, then if she says shes not worried then tell her "happy days i'm going to Blood Bowl tournament instead", Win Win situation :orc:

Might try and paint a new team for this one, surely a year is enough time...

Something strange would have to happen for three of us not to be there.

Sadly I just spotted this is 2016 . . . . in my head I saw 2015!

Ok a whole year and more to find something to do for her birthday not involving this day . . . that shouldn't be too hard right?

Any chance of shifting this tournament?

As in, over the border into England please?
