Some have asked for preliminary details about Chaos Cup this year.

Here is what I got.

More formal rules pack and pre-reg info coming later this year.

1,000,000 to buy team
After built, you get 150k to buy skills (no stats)
No more than 2 skills added per player
No more than 4 of the same skill added to your team
Leader is removed from skill list
Pre-reg will cost $35
On-site reg will cost $50
Earlier you pre-reg, the more raffle tickets you get
Pre-reg by a specific date to order Slaanesh themed CC pitch
Pre-reg will most likely open in June

The rate is $82 a night (regular price is between $95-$120).

This price is good for Sept 2nd thru Sept 10, so you could stay longer and do some sightseeing in Chicago either before or after the Chaos Cup.

Do you have to be present to win any of the giveaways that you get tickets for from pre-registering?

Nope... you mean if you need to leave early or something or are out to lunch?

I usually try to do raffles right before I announce the next round in hopes that everyone is back from breaks.

I was more asking for myself of in the event I cannot make it to the event.

Oh ok, sorry I misinterpreted. In that case, yes, you would need to be present at the tournament since that is the only way to obtain raffle tickets. A couple times last year, someone was in the bathroom or still getting food when I called their name. At least at some point they came up and got their prize and got recognized by the crowd.

Unfortunately, there really isn't any way I can give out raffle tickets to people not in attendance. It would be quite boring for 80+ coaches to stand around hearing me announce all these people that win prizes but not there. Plus, there is no way to "buy" them. You will get them based on when you pre-register. I don't like the idea of paying more to get better odds to win. Unless it was for charity, which then it's ok. But this isn't that kind of tournament.
