That is a very gay way of saying it.

Okey dokey, some expert local knowledge (and possible favours, oo-er!) needed!
Done a bit of pricing up in my busy day back at the office. I've found this so far...
There's a Travellodge over the road that can house 2 people for £53 for Friday and Saturday night.
A flight from Newcastle to Southampton and back costs me £90.99 assuming it doesn't sell out.
The tourney costs me £25.
So all in I'm looking at £142.49 to make it down. Plus beer and travel from and to the airports.
So I phoned a local taxi number for Southampton and I was shocked when she quoted me £54 for a trip from Southampton airport to the Travelodge. Surely that can't be right for a 27 mile journey?
Here's where you guys come in!
1. Does all that sound about right?
2. Has anyone got any cheaper alternatives?
3. Is it possible I could cadge a lift from anyone from and to the airport for petrol/beer money?
(Google reckoned the journey was £4.79 in petrol so where they got £54 from I have no idea!!!)
I would like to come down for this but trying to justify £200-250 before I even pick up a pint is tough...

..... Stuff about travel money costs....
Shite, that's an expensive taxi ride, you could hire a car for the weekend for less.
Just one example
I cant help with the flight costs and are you room sharing to half the hotel cost?
The taxi though..... I'm not sure when the chaps from Essex (Hawk and scs.sam) are arriving, maybe you could coordinate with them for a lift?

£42.70 plus petrol seems cheaper than taxis.
I'd hope to room share with someone but not sure anyone from the North East would be up for a big trip.
Still on the pricey side. May look at alternative options. Still really want to come though!
Any more suggestions chaps?

Talk MrHannah etc into coming as well and share the cost of hiring an MPV, might be cheaper than a flight.
If it's just yourself you can crash at Chez Lunchmoney as no one else has asked to yet*
* Shouldn't be a problem, but this does have to be passed by Tempest first, and assuming you aren't allergic to cats.

Tempest is ok with it.
Alt flight could be to fly to bournemouth? I havent checked that one, but is it a possibilty?
If landing at Southampton, there is a train station there, and I live about 5 minute walk from Bournemouth station, and a train
may be cheaper still.
Mate of mine has just suggested getting a coach from Newcastle to Bournemouth, but that is a very long journey.

I would be looking at coming down Friday if I can find cheapish hotel? And I will pass Southampton so a lift would be no problem

Small update to the rules, so anyone who has downloaded the rules pack may want to do so again.
For reference the changes are:
Team Progression
At the start of the weekend, i.e. before you see your first opponent, you assign 8 skills on up to 8 of your players. 6 of these skills must be selected from the relevant skills players could normally take WITHOUT rolling doubles, 2 skills can be taken from the doubles choice.
3 normal skills and one of the double choices must be labelled “day one”. These skills can be used in all the games on day one. On day two the other 4 activate and the team is complete. The 4 skills for day two can be stacked on the players who received a skill on day one, but no more than 2 skills on a player.
There is no other progression, so your FF will not change and you do not collect winnings at the end of the match, for example.

Does this mean you could play day 2 with 4 players each carrying 2 skills? Interesting... possibly dangerous.
Have noticed this is just after my birthday, so tempted... though getting a pass out for a full weekend may be difficult
