The Albion Coast Cup is back! Ring the bells and bring the maidens! (especially the maidens...)

The Albion Coast Cup is a tournament like no other. Rich in history the ACC has run for a full nine years* but, for a second year only, we are proud to present a progression tournament. As a progression tournament the ACC is still NAF-ranked but each coach has a team to develop and build rather than a fixed roster of everliving players. The ACC is the only progression tournament in the UK so, well, get it while its hot :)

*apart from "the year that wasnt", courtesy of a Mr E. Rob.

Remember that this is a little different to other events so please take careful note of the rules. The tournament will be run according to the CRP with the following exceptions, ammendments and clarifications:

Starting Treasury: 1,050,000
Slann, Underworld, Chaos Pact rosters included.
No Inducements may be purchased as part of your starting roster.
All Inducements allowed (including Special Play Cards) and to be chosen at the start of each game. Petty Cash may be used for Inducements.
SPPs are earned according to the rulebook with the exception of the MVP which is chosen rather than awarded to a random player.
All skill rolls must be made immeadiately after the game in the presence of your opponent (+stats and doubles are allowed).
All purchases, journeymen, and skills must be selected after each game and before the start of the next round.
Any Ogre teams will be allowed to allocate ONE extra MVP to a player of their choice prior to the first game.

Points will be awarded as follows:
Win: 3 Points
Draw: 1 Point
Loss: 0 Points

Each round will be drawn according to the Swiss format with no reference to TDs, CAS or TV
If two or more coaches are tied for first place at the end of the final game then opponent score will be used to find final placings.

It is expected that you will be able to provide appropriate miniatures for any stars that you may induce (or at least proxies that distinguish them from regular team members)
It would be sensible to ensure you bring a good number of skill rings.
Starting Rosters will be required in advance of The ACC so that provision can be made for effecient printing of updated rosters in between rounds.

Venue, costs, and stuff...
The Mitre will be the venue as per last year, with it's large free car park. Meet in the car park around 10am for a 1030am start. Tickets will be £20 and include two lunches and brilliant prizes. All entrants must be registered with the NAF but NAF Membership is included in the ticket price for any brand new members.

Please send entry fees to robincaddy@hotmail.com or shove money into our hands if thats more convenient. If you send money via Paypal PLEASE pay the fees. It's £0.88 on £20, but if we reach capacity it's equivalent to £30 very nearly lost from prize fund/food costs/venue etc.

We look forward to seeing you there :)

FAQ

Q: How many games are there?
A: There are six games, three on each day. The ACC used to be shorter (2 games on sunday) but that was when we had a different venue.

Q: So its basicly a league but with a swiss system and the entire league is played in a weekend?
A: Correct.

Q: I might be wrong but it seems rare in the UK and having one ST5 Block Vampire and another AG5 was mega fun?
A: You are not wrong.

I've cross posted to my Exiles forum to drum up some locals (well, nearly local).
Not going to say either way yet wether I'll be there or not....

I hear last year was good, though, so that might swing it ;)

Pretty sure Sillysod has never been interested in maidens.

I'm very interested, but need to check how much travel and accomodation would be. Put me down as interested...

Well, I suppose that I should come and defend my title :-)

I'll almost certainly be there, especially now that you included the cards.

It was great last year, so I can't see why it wouldn't be this time around.

@tempest If lunchmoney won't come, steal his car, drive on over and we'll look after you.

@lunchmoney Is that phrased better?

Will try and make it to this one - actually like the idea of progression, though it does turn people off.

Really quite tempted to model a Cockerel team, just for all those starting Cockerel posts.

Or does that make me a male chicken?

roosters? (did i make a typo??)
vmcat stayed in a very cheap but not very good place last year, I will do my best to find some decent but good value places sooner rather than later this year. The Island 5 (as they are known) should be back, and we are working on what prize support we will offer. Last year I think the prizes we offered were great and I'm hoping for more of the same this year!
As always Travelodge has rooms around £35 for the saturday night and £25 for the sunday (if you're taking advantage of the bank holiday to travel back) and Southampton (apparently) has some great shopping if the Missus needs convincing to come with for a weekend!
I'm pretty sure Ceetee and maybe Joemanji stayed in the travelodge 2 years ago, maybe they could let us know if it was ok in a generic but acceptable way, and it is about half way between the venue and town so is pretty convenient. Naz and Inky shared a boutique b and b with a double bed but perhaps the less said about that the better! (though the room did look good on the website and they both smelled lovely on the sunday....)
Saturday night usual curry and beers affair, think the venues for those were well received last year too.
Oh and Lemf will try and drink the Mos Eisley Cantina dry I'm sure (unless mrs lemf is reading this in which case I swear on Belafon's life it was only orange juice!)

It was only a short walk to the Hobbit, but no idea how far to the new venue.

On the plus side, the breakfast was really good. :D

Is the venue guaranteed as yet?
