You've seen the glittering auction items on the website (http://www.thrudball.com)...

You've heard rumours of parachute jumping, of thrudwweizer flowing from the sky (ok, I made that bit up), bug eating, masochism, semi-nakedness (leather-and-horse-thong claddding), defacation, urination, belly-barging and buggery....but don't let that put you off, Thrudball is a blast.

It's SOooo much more than just a bloodbowl tournament, I hardly know where to begin...and the EVIL committee at (currently suspended for all being adults...sigh!) GCN club B.R.G.A. are this year putting together what will hopefully be the most ridiculously fun weekend of YOUR LIFE!

...and it's all for "Cherity" too, so c'mon, raise your holiday form NOW to ensure you don't end up missing a thrudtastic night!!

Right, now for those of you who're coming back for more...we've had to move halls, and dates, effectively swapping with Newquaybowl as BOTH our Halls are being demolished (probably by GW Legal, reversing the wrecking ball crane over Galak's car in the process  ) ...but we've only moved by about 5 miles.

The new hall is bigger and better, details WILL appear on the Thrudball website by 5/2/10 latest...we might have to raise our fees slightly (£15 NAF £21 non NAF) as the new hall costs DOUBLE( but was the only hall available for 30 MILES, hence why it's taken so long to finalise the date!)

Hence we need EVEN MORE bums on seats (50+ coaches in 2009) so PLEASE book (+ if you can pay) EARLY - you KNOW we're worth it.

If anyone has an idea what we should in the way of merchandise for 2010 (another colour of Thrud dice, seeing as all the black ones are now gone, perhaps?) please reply to this topic and I'll get help to do a vote thingy to determine the most popular suggestion...provided Carl Critchlow agrees to letting us use his copyright in the manner suggested if it is thrud related, of course.

Finally any help any of you can give generating auction items would be really appreciated, as the missus is expecting on 4th March so i might not have quite so much time to spend chasing potential donators...

Thrud - TASTIC!!!!!
Frank

P.S. Remember this is YOUR tournament - tell us what you want and we'll do our utmost to manage it somehow, no matter how silly your request!

thrudburger balls?

I've had an idea for merchandise this year...if I could get xomeone to model a burger small enough to pass as a ball but detailed enough to have the letters B.R.G.A. on it, and we maybe gave say 10 away for a £10 donation, you guys would never run out of bloodbowl (whispered that word in case GW Legal's ninja assasins were listening) balls again!

Good idea or smelly poo bad idea?

Frank
P.S. If I can find out who did the Dutch Open Cheeses (which had similar high quality writing on them) and convince them it's for a good cause, perhaps I can make this possible...

David,
I really wanted LOTS (500-2500 by end April i.e. in time for BBGT) of these in white metal (so hopefully people are more tempted to cough up cash) ...but thanks, I will certainly keep your offer in mind if WM is not possible.

Besides, I thought you had a halfling team to model by the end of February?

You can't keep Rob on that stool in your basement posing in nought but a bowler hat and a kilt forever, you know... :D unless you have LOTS of BEER!
Thrud LUVYSA!
Frank

P.S. for any one who doesn't know Oving, the Gribble Inn brews their own ale and does fantastic food, though I've heard the ThrudBall committee have got some very grand caterers this year ;)

Had high hopes of making it this year, but I'll (probably) be out of the country. :(

Urgghhh...grown men snowballing maggots...not a sight my mind will ever be able to relinquish...SHUDDERRRRR!!! :puke:

Ken, we already know you are thrud enough, and I think we need new blood for this, if any exists...BUT POTENTIALS BE WARNED our chef was most upset his culinary delights were so well received by the recipients of the Bush Tucker last year, and so has promised a more challenging feast in 2010 with no nice flavors to mask what you are eating! (P.S. how anyone can mask the taste of Ox male chicken in a urine gravy I'll fortunately never know...)

If you have the courage and fortitude of stomache to attempt a sponsored Bush Tucker Trial, please email me mrfrankhill@yahoo.com or via the thrudball website http://www.thrudball.com , ideally we're looking for 2 volunteers to join BRGA's own Mike Ragless in raising some money for a very good cause.
Thrudtastic!
Frank
